Big Batch of Fail for yall. Have collected these (and many more non-car related fails and random crap) over the years, lost them about 6 months ago and just found them again tonight. Enjoy!

I captured this off YouTube myself:

This could be useful if you have a VN:

EDIT: Forgot this one - some may have seen it before...

Exactly, they took the best bits from around the world, combined them into one, and made an amazing piece of machinery!

Yep, the Buick V6 was an engineering masterpiece, so smooth and refined.

And keeping the narrow track VL front end and dropping the wider VN body over the top was also top class engineering.

Are you serious?

"Amazing piece of machinery", and VN/VP should never be used in the same sentence.

IMO they're two of the most overrated Commodores ever made.

: like the rest of the car is standard to im sure the bulge doesnt make any difference. As it looks to be designed with difference in mind.....

Takes me back to the time when "Volvo driver" meant ******** who drove like they couldn't be hurt (owing to Volvo having a reputation as a "safe" car).

GM EV1. Ford sticker on the side, but looks remarkably like an AU1 Forte at the rear. The car did fail to be successful though; also being the world's first production electric car.

ALL EV1 vehicles were leased only, GM flatly refused to retail the vehicle - another example of Detroit and big oil crushing technology it before it could be marketed - literally in this instance

Toyota did not seem to have an issue with the concept though....

There were electric cars in the late 1890's as well I believe.

Technically not "production" vehicles though (I think it has to mass produced to be considered a production vehicle, i.e. you can't just make 1 or 2)

Quote:
Before the pre-eminence of internal combustion engines, electric automobiles held many speed and distance records. Among the most notable of these records was the breaking of the 100 km/h (62 mph) speed barrier, by Camille Jenatzy on April 29, 1899 in his 'rocket-shaped' vehicle Jamais Contente, which reached a top speed of 105.88 km/h (65.79 mph). Before the 1920s, electric automobiles were competing with petroleum-fueled cars for urban use of a quality service car.
I find it amazing that if things had been even slightly different back then, we would never have seen such amazing petrol powered vehicles.

Though I think we would have progressed farther and faster if we had gone electric to begin with (wars with silent electric planes would have been interesting)

Yeah, I agree with what you are saying in regards to having quicker cars had we of stayed with electrics from the start, but it's near on impossible to be enthusiastic about an electric powered vehicle. They have no character, internal combustion is like a beating heart, electric is like a pacemaker, haha.
