Shimano sealed bottom bracket. Model BB-LP27. I can't find any information on how many bearings should be inside. I found 12 on the drive side and 17 on the non drive side. Should it be 18?

I stripped the old war horse back to the frame. Have to rebuild the rear hub then put it back together. See if I remember where every thing went. :-P

Watched the Tour Down Under telecast yesterday and was so nice to hear Phil Liggett on commentary with Robbie McEwen and Jens Voigt.

I actually liked the TDF commentary. Its like most sports. Eventually you have to bring fresh guys in that have been in and around the sport more recently. I enjoy the commentary, but I won't miss him when he hangs up the microphone, as there are many others that have already proved they can step in.

I wouldn't so mind the Aussie commentary if it wasn't so biased towards Richie F**ing Porte or the Orica (or who ever they are now) Edge team.
Don't get me wrong I support local riders but I want to hear about all riders in the grand tours.

No I wasn't talking about an Australian event, I was talking world cycling commentary where Mathew Keenan is so bias towards Aussie teams, Robby Mcewan less so. When he wins a 3 week Grand Tour then I might be interested in him. Sorry Richie.

I didn't mind the last TDF. Sure Richie got a fair mention, but he was riding for BMC as they GC contender, so he was one of the main prospects for the tour. I didn't notice him getting any more or less air time than froome or Thomas etc. I think the commentary has been pretty good. having anna and stuey there as well is good.

Nice, proper job. Double thumbs up. What tyres did you end up using, can not quite zoom in enough to see.

WTB were great tyres, so many choices back then to, I loved my Ritchey (no not him, prydey) Z Maz and Speed max from the 90's.

After nearly 10 years in back into mountain biking. Bought myself a Norco Storm 1, see how I go with that before upgrading to a dual suspension set up. I thought I always had a reasonable level of fitness but going by the burning sensation in my legs I’m not so sure now haha.
Been riding out to the You Yangs last couple of weeks, some trails in here aren’t too bad. I have a bike bar on order so I can drive out to the Otways and have a go at a few there. One near Lake Elizabeth looks like a blast. |

Picked up the bike from the bike shop yesterday. I am very pleased with the final result. Like new? No, however significantly better than before (it changes gear on demand!). To get it to the next step would require a new chain, cassette and sprockets.

All Shimano Deore components. 9 speeds on rear. 3 on front. Shouldn't be a problem to get parts. I wanted an expert to correctly setup the bicycle. Will take it for a ride soon and if gear changes no good under load then I can and will change the parts by myself.

Hope no one minds me posting these here.... a couple of Super V's I rebuilt a couple of years ago.
Pearly as I call it was a $150 ebay bargain. typical left in the garage bike due to stuffed cabling and punctures. 98 Cannondale SuperV700, I only buy the older Handmade in the USA stuff. As bought 6061T6 Frame, paint was in excellent condition but stripped and polished the swingarm, cranks, etc. upgraded and rebuilt the Headshok suspension reassembly time using original simple spring rebound Fox Vanilla rear shock Finished and ready for a ride. And the Gen 1 Super V Raven. Frameset I scored from Indiana for $450 AU Gen 1 Ravens were 6061 T6 skeleton draped in a carbon skin. 99 handmade in the USA Bedford PA Gen II Raven were magnesium skeleton frame set in a thermoplastic skin (this is the one Clydesdale riders were breaking the BB on. Still would like to find one as they're becoming rare now. How it arrived. Setting up a new Super Fatty Headshok suspension fork New Black Spire chainrings, retro Sachs Plasma front derailleur, stripped and polished CODA crankset. NOS 9 speed Sachs cassette and chain, SRAM X9 rear derailleur, Avid single digit brake set, new Michelin Country ROCK (R) Conti Speed King (F) tyres, rebuilt Fox Alps 5R rear shock Sorted Love my old Super V's

Took the bike for a 30km ride this evening. Difference is like chalk and cheese. Everything works and minimal noises made from drivetrain. Not perfect but I didn't expect it to be.

Question to the high mileage cyclists. If you tweak your hamstring, how long do you rest to allow full recovery?
BTW - I am thinking of adding a road bicycle to my collection. For a casual rider I think the 2019 Giant Contend SL 1 disc will be sufficient. https://www.giant-bicycles.com/au/contend-sl-1-disc

Yesterday I picked up this to add to my stable. For a recreational rider it suits me perfectly. Plus $500 off RRP!
