im waiting on some pics of my Brandy to post up. She is a labrador/cattle cross. Have had her since my 7th birthday (im 22 and a half)

Today my darling dog took her last trip to the vet. She was unable to walk, her breathing ever so laboured. Mum couldnt take her, Dad had to but could not be with her when she went to sleep. I absolutely loved this dog, she was the kindest, cutest, smartest dog I have ever met. I just wish I could have been there one last time to tell her how much i loved her, how much she meant to me and how without her I dont think growing into the man I am today would have been the same

RIP Brandy. I am going to miss you :(

sad to read it old_mate, but I'm sure in her own way she knew it was time. it is one of lifes great things (imo) to share your times with a dog, and you sound to be richer for the experience. I remember reading somewhere that to our dogs we are immortal; we are there when they are born (or arrive) and we are still around when they die. it is a nice way for them to see us.

My 7 year old Australian Champion Rottweiler - shown nationally for 5 years.

Who could ever believe how much of an important part of your life a Fur child would become until you have one, now i'll never go with out one again. Our girl has such a wonderful nature and so do 99% of the Rottweilers that we've have the pleasure of meeting and socialising with.
A dog can be just like a child - it's upbringing plays the biggest part of it's attitude. I'm a great beliver of "There is no such thing as a bad breed - just irresponsible owners"

Rotties are the biggest sooks (if treated well from a pup).
Still territorial when strangers are around ... but they are a misunderstood animal by a lot of people.

Their bark is worse than their bite.

My Brother in Law has one .... he's getting on now though .... nearing 11 yo ... finds winter a bit of a struggle with his hips though.

i had a rotti for 11years (until cancer took hold), got him when my daughter was 1yr old. he was a brilliant dog, full german blood lines (65kg), i trained him and did security with him for years. in 11 years he never showed agression to a woman or a kid, and i had no hope of smacking my daughter around him (if she was naughty she would let the dog in and hide behind it). the pitty is great too but completely different, and i think it is in the way they are bought up. he is 10 now and has never shown agression to other animals,(see photos post 335) he has his own cat. he is a bit protective of the kitten though.

New addition to the family.
short-hair female pure-bred Border Collie - 6 month old
She was given to us ... was in a backyard ... now on acres to run around and harrass the birds.

Ball of energy and has settled in well. Very happy pup.
I am getting a lot of exercise now ... LOL

Default He's no show dog but I love him!

his name is Ares, named after the greek god of war. I should have named him cuddles because he is a softey. I also agree some dogs like rotties and pit bulls get a bad rep. It isn't the dog, it is the upbringing. Just like humans, dogs need to have disapline or they will have no respect.

This is dudley, he is about 3 and 280kg, when he climbs up the gate with his front feet, he stands about 6"8... but he is a softie, you can pat him and sit on his back, he runs to you when you call him, and has never ran too far from his pen.
Dudleys favourite activities include: Rolling in mud, Running away from mum, watching us work and getting in the way, sunbaking, swimming and humping square hay bales....
And his favourite food is stinging nettles...
