Why do you care so much what other people think about your car? Drive what you want because you want to. Between your BBQ's, social circles and the "corporate world", it sounds like you let them run your life.

Obviously you have zero idea how huge the Euro car scene is. Makes the Falcodore scene look like an anthill compared to a mountain. The amount of tuning shops in Germany alone is astounding. Catering to all the different manufacturers, motors, markets, scenes. Drop on by any BMW forum and you'll see even more build threads than you see on here. Its not so much tastes changing as you get more money as much as it is the simple fact you can afford a better car. If you suddenly came into millions would you just pot around in a Falcadore or buy a genuine all round performance car and/or Supercar?

Just because you and I cant afford new AMGs, Beemers, Audis, etc. doesn't mean the owners aren't capable of being enthusiasts and just drive it from A to B.

Hell people regularly twin turbo Lamborghinis and Ferraris, As the wallet of a genuine car enthusiast gets bigger, the potential for mods does as well.

Falcodore owners are not the only car enthusiasts in the world.

So what? They may not know a spark plug from an O-ring, and they may like to keep their cars stock standard. That doesn't make them any less of an enthusiast: they appreciate the car for what it is and love driving it, and their car means more to them than a means of getting from A to B. Hell, it doesn't even have to be a fast car, or a flash car ...

Your definition of "car enthusiast" is quite narrow minded.

Fact is, when you can earn the big coin, you can have a lot of fun with cars...best thing for a big corporate bloke to bust knuckles on twirl spanners after a soulless day in the office.

You dont have to do all the work on the car yourself or even modify a car at all to be an enthusiast. Modified Falcodore owners are a tiny, tiny, tiny slice of the car enthusiast pie. You can still be a huge car enthusiast but do none of the work yourself, or be a huge car enthusiast and keep it stock.

I keep seeing this claim made and will offer some counter evidence. If you are talking on a world wide scale, this would be very true obviously. But on a local scale I think the number of Ford and Holden and even Chrysler enthusiasts hold there own numbers wise. Evidence? I've never seen a Euro/Jap run spanning multiple kilometres as they cruise down the Mt Lindsay highway. Any car show in this area is almost exclusively made up of Aussie/American muscle... Do I assume that the Euro/Jap enthusiasts are too scared to come out and play or are their numbers not as large as some would have you believe?

I'm talking on a global scale because alot of people are acting like Falcodore owners are the only car enthusiasts in the entire world and nobody else actually likes cars. But even local they're not as big as that either, I see more JDM cars getting around thesedays than I do modded Falcodores. Every few weeks here theres a big group of JDM cars on a cruise. Theres more and more high end Euros here as well, many of them wrapped and stanced.

And honestly I would say the 4x4 scene in Australia is now bigger than Falcadore scene, but you wont see 4x4 guys driving down the road in a big group, they're off road having fun.
