Good to see Karl Stefanovic on A Current Affair sticking it up Germaine Greer.
She seems to be a bit of an attention seeker! :
As Karl said, she is paid to be outspoken.

What is it with her?

She hate anything male?
or
Does she just want Aus to be a country of snobby intellectuals?

I don't know. But a big load of "Think before you speak" wouldn't go astray for sure.

That Germaine Greer is something else, isnt she. I have never witnessed an interview of someone so vile in my life. May she rot in hell.

Being a feminist I wonder what she would say if someone were to ask her why she was out of the kitchen?

Well, I've been reading this thread as well as many others on forums that I frequent, but have yet to make a post. Well, this is the forum I decided to make my post on as it's quintessentially Australian.

I never really got into the Croc Hunter thing, but for some unexplained reason Steve's death hit me, I don't know why and it's baffling me. I thought he was a bit of an idiot, but I'll miss him. His impact on my life in general was unseen, but at the time of his death has made an impact. I have a serious case of WTF?'s I've been around family deaths, basically I have no one left, so it's not like I haven't seen it before. I just can't explain why I feel this way, I know, I'm airey fairey and I'm never this way.

Happy travels Steve, I wish now that I had got to have known you, but I will in time, as we all will.

I wish Steve's family and friends well

Cheers,

Kraig

Germaine Greer is a Filthy Bitter Pitiful Skanky **nt that should burn in hell for her out of turn comments about a man who could no longer defend himself or his actions.

May she be judged for her comments against the dead when her time comes...

Guys you are in good company....the things I've been hearing ppl say on aunty about her....well lets just say the nicest thing I heard was from a guy who had met her years ago..."she is the most vitriolic batch of all time" and this was his impression at the time of meeting her.

She will get her just deserts the same as all the others who have scorned him in his passing.

Bet they would'nt have said it to his face when alive!!!!!!

I was thinking about Germaine today along a similar line... What I was thinking was sort of similar to the Hilux add but more daring.... Next time she is in Australia, we go to one of her speeches and were a shirt that says... "Cook my dinner, Mole"(No offence to the ladies).... Obviously we would wear the shirt under a jumper or jacket and take it off once we are inside and everyone is settled.....

Germaine will never go to Hell.... Not even Satan could put up with that Troll of a woman... In fact... If Germaine did go to Hell, Satan would turn to Christianity. Just so he could get into Heaven to get away from her...

Hi Guys, I agree with all the statements that I have been hearing about the old troll Gerpain. But it makes me a little sad that it's name has come up in the "Steve Irwin tribute thread" She does not deserve to be mentioned in the same forum as Steve.

I look at it this way. 200 hundred years ago old mother England sent a few thousand of her un wanted people out here to Aussie. We sent her GG. I think that we got a much better deal.......

Lets just Gerpain crawl back under her slimey rock.

Cheers all.

Unfortunately there are always going to be these people who have no respect and to say such things about Steve Irwin so soon after his death is one hell of a low act.
I to was very moved and upset by this tradegy and to see clips of him with the animals he loved so much brings a gut wrenching feeling to my stomach of how such a awesome, down to earth bloke can be taken from us in such a way.
R.I.P Steve Irwin your a one of a kind, to all those out there who critize you, its only because they could never achieve what you have or be the person you were a true blue aussie who wore his heart on his sleeve and who's passion was unwavering in everything he did.You will be missed tremedously but never forgotten R.I.P Steve Irwin Australia has lost a true icon and son.

I am wondering whether the QLD Government is going to donate what it would have cost to have a state funeral for Steve to his Wildlife Warriors Foundation? I am going to contact someone tomorrow not sure who yet to suggest such a thing. Also I think that we have days for everything at the moment Bonny Babes, Daffodil Day and the like and we should have a day for Steve that actually raises money every year that goes towards his wildlife warriors foundation. This could be on his birthday to celebrate his life and all that he achieved.

Id suggest sending a letter to the State Treasurer, and one to the premier. Other than that Im not sure who.

Ill send one myself, great idea, just like the no flowers and tributes thing, make a donation. I reckon Steve would prefer that.

Now there goes a bloke that myself and the kids were hoping to meet some day. "Larger than life" they say. Too right he was. Not too many Steve Irwin's around and the world could do with many more. Very sad day indeed.

Haven't said a word about Steve's pasting. Still can't beleive it. The kids are upset. What do you tell the young ones?

My sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. You did plenty good in this world while you were here mate, and the majority of us are proud of that.

As for Germaine Greer! She is one bitter and twisted critter. She can probably put money on one thing and that is if she steps foot back into this country, she can most likely expect a line up at the airport as two thirds of this nation line up to give her a kick in the guts...... just to return the favour. Silly, heartless old bat! Talk about kicking a man when he is down and out!

May you RIP Steve Irwin,

Germaine Greer contributes nothing to society, feminists in general have nothing positive to say.

Good to see the Shadow Minister saying on camera she should "put a sock in it".

The best reaction is no reaction to the rubbish that leaves her mouth.

how can she say that most australians would be embarresed by him? he was great and people loved him....its not like everyone out of the country thinks we are like that...we have people like nicole kidman and mel gibson lived here too.....peoples common sense would tell you that he was deffinantly an extrodanary person who enjoyed what he did....he may have been abit over the top but that was his personality and for someone to show no remorse and just criticise him while his gone is just low....why did she wait untill he died? i seriously hope she goes broke now and when she comes back here she wont be allowed through the airport....how could anyone love her she is pure evil...how can she pretend to know what australians are like....shes too busy over in england boring the crap out of them.....steve should have his own day like fathers day.....mabey you could call it...."steve irwin good will day" and people would buy his kharki shirts and the profits would go to animal foundations.....god bless him and his family

Default A True Blue Tribute to Steve Irwin

Taken from: The Maverick Spirit Newsletter

Quote:

John Williamson, Steve Irwin and Warren H. Williams Australia Day 2006

It doesn't get more Australian than Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo – until you throw True Blue singer John Williamson in with the crocs as well. Elizabeth Innes from the local newspaper Sunshine Coast Weekender

“Hey true blue, is it me and you? Is it mum and dad? Is it a cockatoo?”

Whatever else there is, there's no question that John Williamson playing a concert at Australia Zoo on Australia Day is as true blue as you could hope to find. Yes, the man who's brought us Rip Rip Woodchip, Old Man Emu, Mallee Boy and Cootamunda Wattle came to the Coast to play his all-Australian tunes in Steve Irwin's backyard.

Two national icons came together to make it an unforgettable Australia Day right here on the Coast with Australia 's most amazing creatures as their backdrop. You can try to hold back the goosebumps but when you hear True Blue live from the man himself on Australia Day, it is be all but impossible.

Hey True Blue
by John Williamson

Hey True Blue, don't say you've gone
Say you've knocked off for a smoko
And you'll be back later on
Hey True Blue, Hey True Blue

Give it to me straight
Face to face
Are you really disappearing,
Just another dying race,
Hey True Blue.

True Blue, is it me and you?
Is it Mum and Dad, is it a cockatoo?
Is it standing by your mate
When he's in a fight?
Or will she be right?
True Blue, I'm asking you...

Hey True Blue, can you bear the load?
Will you tie it up with wire,
Just to keep the show on the road?
Hey True Blue, Hey True Blue, now be Fair Dinkum

Is your heart still there?
If they sell us out like sponge cake
Do you really care?
Hey True Blue.

True Blue, is it me and you?
Is it Mum and Dad, is it a cockatoo?
Is it standing by your mate
When she's in a fight?
Or will she be right?
True Blue, I'm asking you...

True Blue, is it me and you?
Is it Mum and Dad, is it a cockatoo?
Is it standing by your mate
When he's in a fight?
Or will she be right?
True Blue ... True Blue.

May the memory of
Steve Irwin
live on...

Default The Crocodiles are Crying - Tribute to Steve Irwin.

THE CROCODILES ARE CRYING

Endless visions fill my head – this man – as large as life
And instantly my heart mourns for his angels and his wife
Because the way I see Steve Irwin – just put everything aside
It comes back to his family – it comes back to his pride

His animals inclusive – Crikey – light the place with love!
Shine his star with everything he fought to rise above
The crazy-man of Khaki from the day he left the pouch
Living out his dream and in that classic ‘Stevo’ crouch

Exploding forth with character and redefining cheek
It’s one thing to be honoured as a champion unique
It’s one thing to have microphones and spotlight cameras shoved
It’s another to be taken in and genuinely loved

But that was where he had it right – I guess he always knew
From his fathers’ modest reptile park and then Australia Zoo
We cringed at times and shook our heads – but true to natures call
There was something very Irwin in the make up of us all

Yes the more I care to think of it – the more he had it right
If you’re going to make a difference – make it big and make it bright!
Yes - he was a lunatic! Yes - he went head first!
But he made the world feel happy with his energetic burst

A world so large and loyal that it’s hard to comprehend
I doubt we truly count the warmth until life meets an end
To count it now I say a prayer with words of inspiration
May the spotlight shine forever on his dream for conservation

…My daughter broke the news to me – my six year old in tears
It was like she’d just turned old enough to show her honest fears
I tried to make some sense of it but whilst her Dad was trying
His little girl explained it best…she said “The crocodiles are crying”

Their best mate’s up in heaven now – the crocs up there are smiling!
And as sure as flowers, poems and cards and memories are piling
As sure as we’ll continue with the trademarks of his spiel
Of all the tributes worthy – he was rough…but he was real

As sure as ‘Crikey!’ fills the sky
I think we’ll miss ya Steve…goodbye
