Right. It looks more like a VP Commodore than an EF Falcon.

I'd lean towards the VP more, but it does slightly resemble an EF too.

yeah and to make it worse Ford AU must have known they were on a hiding to nothing as the Dn101 taurus was to market (96) and DOA - suprisingly the market didnt fall in love with 'Oval' everything.

AU was actually 'New Edge' like the KA and Focus, but had some 'ovaloid' themes like the glasshouse and dash.
Seems to me they changed the oval theme at the last minute and the AU was stuck in the middle

I managed to get a two and a half inch stainless steel tip from U pull it for free (we bought various parts for my sisters car so they just chucked it in, it was brand new - still had the price sticker on it, it was sitting in the boot of a wrecked EB fairmont).
The tip looks very subtle, quite classy in fact.
If I'd had the time to stay around and grab some other parts from the E series there I would have got a full exhaust system (looked like new), new tyres, 5 speed manual trans and pedal box (there were two EBs there with the trans still attached, although the shifter boots were mysteriously missing???), after market bonnet and a ten inch sub box...

I have fallen in love with U pull it.
...no I haven't been paid to say this

Ahh which reminds me.
Saturday night dad asked me to drive him down to the shops because he'd had a few drinks and was probably over the limit, no problems, grab the keys.
I didn't want to drive the wagon so we got in mum's VS commodore and I drove him down to the local coles, as we were pulling into the carpark I noticed an abundance of bogans standing around a bunch of Holdens... all of them jeering at me to "chuck a skid" in my mums car.
*HOLDEN CRUISE.*
They were plainly drinking alcohol and many of the cars there couldn't have been roadworthy, black stockies on the back anyone???
As we stopped in at the petrol station, a VZ commodore with a HSV body kit sped round the corner trying but failing to pull a skid.
That was an epic fail.
I have nothing against Commodores, but that made me feel embaressed to be driving one at the time.

Spotted on the way to work this morning, one black xr6 with an xr8 bonnet with wanna-be monaro nostrils. I didnt have the time to get a pic & didnt want to stick the boot in to get in front of him for one. It wouldv meant getting a bit willing with the pedal at or around the place where a fella was killed a coupla weeks ago on Dandenong Rd. Plus I wouldv had to get my phone out to take the shot so I was left just shaking my head thinking thats soo wrong on so many levels.
cheers

I know... mum, dad and I all went down together in my wagon and were joking about it the whole way down.
Seriously though, the whole idea of getting what you want off the car is great.
I love not having dumb white trash idiots trying to tell me I'm wrong about a certain part...

Me: "No, I'm sure the car doesn't have thermo fans, it has a clutch fan..." Guy who works at the local wreckers: *shakes head* "nah mate, a clutch is part of the drivetrain..."
Me: *Gives up and walks away*

Btw, fit my sister's camry's new bonnet in the back of the wagon with the rear seat still operable (I let mum drive and sat in the back enjoying the married-couple-driving bickering).
Gotta love the falcon wagons.

No need to compare. I like to think of BMW as an ally to Ford with their perfect I6 motors as Mercedes is to Holden with their love of crappy V6s.

Ie: BMW creams over Merc as does Ford over Holden. M3/M5 over any AMG and FPV F6 over any HSV, thanks

Apparently, the taurus was going to be the replacement for the AU. This car would have been the BA falcon.

really bobman? I see it as the other way around - bmw/holden being the kind of car boy racers prefer and ford/merc for the refined, learnered gent
Oh and bmw/holden for their continuing use of bloody struts
where ford/merc use the superior double a-arms
