The last two days I have got a wiff of pollen which means the seasons are changing. It's coming up to swooping season.
There is one **** of a bird that has swooped me just stepping out the front of my house long range like a ****en F-111 I went for a jog on the oval. Usually if you stare them down they won't attack from the front but this **** was nasty and chased me off Last edited by GasoLane; 21-08-2021 at 09:06 AM. |

Trick is, feed them a few tidbits and they'll most likely leave you alone.
We had swoopers in the park next door, and after a few little treats no more swoopies. |

I was on good terms with the Maggies at my old house. It's weird here though because we have underground power so you don't have birds on the wire and they rarely come into my backyard.
I haven't paid my dues around here yet. This one is super aggressive but I have seen a heap of kids stirring it up so no wonder |

lol just released one i found with a bloody & broken wing....had her 9months & this is day 4 of freedom...tried a release 10wks back but she couldnt cope with the angry local ones & lasted 3 days. Ended up putting a cage up on top of the back enclosed deck, which she could come & go at will from inside the 12x 6m back deck...her"sky lounge" let her entertain & mingle with the locals that visited... hoping she teams up with a male that she seemed to like...shes lurking & came for a feed yesterday.Have had to chase off the bad ones twice so far....fingers crossed Betty!

Hmmmm, i ran my rc car yesterday. Didnt have time to romp on it before i broke it. I was playing with one weird traction stability setting that annoys me, then it started handling odd. Yep, it wasnt broken suspension bits. I snapped another axle. Thats axle #5. The 1st 4 were the stock plastic ones that i replaced with stock plastic ones due to availability yet ordered upgraded metal ones from the other side of the world which took their time to arrive. This one was one of the metal ones. So i have ordered a pair of replacements, i do have 4 stock plastic ones as spares. So i already have a tracking number, but come Monday, depending on what that says will sway my aspiration to change both fronts to stockys or wait it out. Changing 1 is a fiddly pain. 2 is a double pain. If its not too long for the new set, only 1 will be swapped, 1 will be spare.
So far the list of breakage is 1 lower suspension arm, 4 stock axles, 1 metal axle. Am i upset? No, im kind of impressed. So the list of modifications.... well, there are none. I dont reckon metal axles are a modification if in stock form the thing can still pull a number on them. Maybe 1st mod will be taller gearing. Yes more top end, but slower acceleration will reduce driveline stress. |

Cut my finger pruning roses.
Followed standard OHS practice and quickly stuck my finger in my mouth. Forgetting I was wearing a mask! TWICE!!

A bit like the idiot who burnt one ear because the phone rang when he was ironing, and then burnt the other ear because he called an ambulance.

I caught the neighbours cat in the act digging a hole in my garden. So I went up to it to give it the move on.
The thing wouldn't move and 'I said don't you do it' and yep next thing you know it dropped a ****. What a little ****. Seriously never expected it to follow through with me right next to it Got a stick and flicked it over the fence |

Trigger spray with plain water works well. They soon learn the sloshing noise is a warning.
…Also hating that a box of fasteners from a wreck is stashed right at the bottom of a pile of stuff from said car. Going to take forty minutes to get it out. Mañana! Last edited by Citroënbender; 26-08-2021 at 06:05 PM. |

I hate the word “obviously”!
Listen to any football player being interviewed and count the times they use it? Same with Pollies with their daily Covid update! Is it being used instead of “um” or “ah”?
