Hi all and thanks Auslandau russellw SpoolMan wulos and moderators for running this great forum. In 1979 my dad drove the family across the nullabor from the east coast to the west and back in a pristine ZD 351 with me perched on the front armrest all the way. Loved that car. Finally getting into a territory so I can do a few trips with my own family. Looking forward to learning more about Terrys in the forums cheers dave

Welcome to the Zoo.
Oh, and stay off the road in Feb. We're coming up there and will be amongst the thousands of others in a rent-a-wreck

Default Ford Probe owner in SA

Hi All

Just thought I'd post here and say Hi.

I have a 1995 Probe GT which has been in the family since new. It's a pretty unique car in some ways, has black leather seats, fitted from new, and has only done 206Ks.

I'm hoping to get some advice about it on these forums and look forward to reading posts etc.

Hi guys been looking on FForums for a couple of years since buying a 2009 fg turbo ute
new I got the bug, when the wife told me I needed a family car I started looking for a F6 sedan about 12 mths ago . Well last week I took a oneway flight from WA to SA and purchased a 2008 F6 sedan in Octane & had the pleasure of driving her back to Perth, it was a true Aussie experience really enjoyed the passing power overtaking road trains, I think some of the truck drivers would of been impressed, in general I took it easy & enjoyed the ride, just loving driving the car, dissapointing to think they will soon no longer make these cars, & I imagine everyone will want one when you can no longer get one

Hey all. I've been away from this forum for a while now after I sold my old xc. But on the up side I picked up an xc fairmont yesterday. I would like to return it original but put a little turbo in her (its still got the original engine). Maybe if someone could point me towards someones post that has put a turbo in a xc, I would be grateful.

Have a look at montyv8's thread in the project section. He has a turbo in his XB coupe. May give you some insight into how it is done

There are a couple of other threads in the project section on turbos so worth a look.

Cheers
Col

Well, I've been looking since yesterday at posts in the projects section. I can't seem to find anyone who has turbo'd a stock xc 6. I looked at montyv8,s like geez Louise told me to but that was a v8. I'm sure someone has done it, I'm just not really good on the old computer. Also I've been looking at the compliance plates but can't find the manufacture year, am I missing something. Thanks in advance for any help offered, Harry.

Hi i'm Matt from NZ.

Currently have in the shed:

96mitsi lancer evolution IV -230 wheel kw
71 classic mini with a heap of mods
79 toyota hatchback (starlet) with turbo 6 cylinder starlet - 245 wheel kw
90 mx5 receiving 2 litre turbo heart transplant - not running yet
09 triton ute on 20 inch wheels with chip and raised boost

wife drive a Peugeot 3008, and I recently aquired a 2010 g6e in ego for my mum's xmas present ( to upgrade from her 20 year old magna)

I joined up to dig around for a couple of fixes that needed doing on the g6e but now im thinking either the evo or the triton could go in favour of a g6e turbo or fg xr6t...

cool forum
cheers
matt

Hi All,

Dave from Central Victoria here, thanks for making me welcome.

Took possession of 'the project' only in the last few days, still having trouble fully identifying just what I landed myself with!

Not ONE tag, plate, sticker, to be found on it EXCEPT on the front left hand lower block , but has remanufactured motor.

THINK it's around 68-70's era SWB (133 inch) garden variety F250 or 350, probably 240, NP435, Dana 60, Twin I beam front axle. Cabin completely rusted out, but good mechanicals worth saving.

Would like to be able to put a trace on the engine number, that's all I have to go on, so if anyone can help??

Particularly interested in Jeeps with factory fitted Ford sixes, had an old CJ with a 144, but could have been a retrofit. Believe they also used right up to 250 2V's.

Cheers, Dave 64

Thumbs up Re: Welcome to New Members - Post here to say gday!

G'day, Just bought my fist Ford a Territory SX TS 05, 5 seat (Family Car, needed to fit 3 baby seats in back!). I did my research here of FForum and see that there would be a great community for support in any problems we might have. Got a good idea of what was to look for in buying a Territory also, so a big thank you to all Forum users and administrators. Hope to share my experiences with the Terri, Lovin the new car experience so far, have a few minor problems to sort out so will be searching and posting shortly.

G'day all from a newbie. I came aboard today
I'm of the somewhat older generation... just started to collect aged pension. But you know what they say "Old ain't dead"
Bought my first car, Ford, XL ute in 1965. Fitted 2 x SU carbs & home made extractors. Don't laugh, that was pretty cool way back then.
Current drive BA XR6 Turbo, with a few tricky bits.
Hope to chat with a few soon.

Mal.

Gday, I just bought a BA Fairmont Ghia, it had a list of things wrong with it when I checked it out at the dealership, I got a good price just before closing time and drove to the service station to find the fuel tank is split where the filler joins
Will be replacing the tank and a bunch of other things to get it back up to scratch, even with a bunch of things wrong with it, it's still nicer than any of the Commodores I've owned, convert for sure.
Roof lining sag, backyard window tint, broken bonnet pull, child restraint wear back seat, roof console missing the sunnies holder, right rear actuator renders the car unlockable, a clip on one of the rear park sensors seems a little loose, a dodgy fuel tank and I still love it.

Good morning all. I'm the fabricator, I have a Xr8 260 ute BA mk2.
Love the car had it for over 4 years now. I just had the big lump cams installed before Christmas sound's great. But the tuner gave me some bad news. The rh head is low on compression due to miss alignment of the timing. I hope it didn't bend a valve still running but on load she's missing. Going back to the tuner to diagnose the timing and see what's wrong on Wednesday. Cheers.

Hello all,

After 4 Japanese cars, I decided it was time for a change. Late last week I took delivery of a AUII XR8. Couldn't be happier :-)

As an aside- what a strange forum. Threads and posts are all displayed in 'backwards order' compared to every other forum I'm on.

Gday all, looks like I am going to be a Ford owner again, the first one was an Escort Mk11 I think, it came with a 1.3 engine and it was a cheap second hand buy.
We had lots of fun and lots of Km's as well. We fitted a 1.6 engine half way through its life.
Since then there have been 3 Commodores, VR, VT and now a VY dual fuel.
We are in the process of purchasing a spanking new Territory TX RWD 5 seat diesel to tow our caravan as the Commodore has lots of KM's and may not last too much longer towing the KM's we plan to do in retirement.
Will let you know how we like the Terri. Or T REX as a family member calls them.
