After looking though the pictures all I can say with great confidence is the only good thing that came from the 80's is was Metallica. |

How could you possibly think that Metallica was formed in the 70's?
First album "Kill 'em All" was released in 83, they formed around late 81/early 82 IIRC. I don't need wikipedia or anything to know this, its all off the top of my head. They were originally on a thrash compilation cd IIRC, I think that may have been either a different name of Metallica was spelt with one "L". Either way, the best of Metallica came from 83-87... then it got a bit poo.

I seen a big fail on the weekend, at Watergardens shopping center. White EL with bodykit that was custom made to look like a FPV BF GT kit. Front and rear bar and side skirts all included. I was thinking why. Sorry did not get a shot, but have to say that the car was very clean example of a EL.

That 4WD towing the caravan is one of the biggest fails I've ever seen.

I just went through that "50 uglies cars" thing...good lord...
However, what's wrong with an El Camino ute? And the Subaru Brat ute? Delorean (nothing wrong with that besides the gutless V6 engine & a few build quality issues...the car itself was great)! That Lambourghini LM002 might have been ugly...but I recall seeing pics of it four wheel powersliding around the bitumen at the factory on a car TV show when it was released...having an engine out of the Countach will do that for ya... Hands up the man who wouldn't like a Nissan S-Cargo for laugh value? Chevrolet SSR ute? Once again, they almost imported that thing here and would have sold heaps if priced right. As for the tiny Toyota IQ...I don't know...there's something about it...looks like it might be a giggle to drive. I suppose "ugliness" is all subjective anyway. |

There is bugger all weight in that load of poly pipe. Looks like it is 20 metres or so long. Ive towed many extendable loads of steel up to 18 metres long at up to 26t. Ive never seen an extendable fail like that before.

It looks more like a complete structural failure rather than an overloading failure. In the case of overloading the bolts would go LONG before the steel did, but in this case the steel went first (visible by the extreme buckling).
I say this as a civil engineer mind you, not a mechanical, so I'm happy to be proven wrong! EDIT: Yeah didn't notice to corrugation. Resonance in metal structures - see Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Except thats resonance caused by wind. |

I'm sure it had so much torque, the trailer twisted off the line...
