The D brackets off the series 1 look slightly deeper than the later ones. I compared my old ones against BA ones, s2 should be the same as BA. You'd need to put some sort of spacer between the bush and the chassis bracket. The sway bar would sit a bit further away from the chassis (ie lower) than stock. NFI if that would hurt the handling or stress other components.

Just to confirm FWIW, that BA wagon/ute rear calipers bolt straight up to a s1 wagon without needing a 3mm spacer. According to the PBR and Bursons catalogues the friendly salesman at Supercheap checked, there are 2 different rear calipers for the BA, a sedan one and wagon/ute one. Does anyone know how many different rear calipers are used on the AU?

Looked at the BA parts listing on the same site and found as expected 2 pairs of rear calipers, sedan and wagon/ute. Where it gets weird is... the part no for the sedan LH caliper is the same as the wagon/ute RH caliper and vice versa... ... does this mean that, instead of making 3mm spacers for calipers that don't line up on the AU sedan rear (IRS????), you just swap the calipers from one side to the other? Anyone want to try it?

AFAIK AU2 calipers are different to BA's as the BA rotor is bigger. You could try the catalogue on the PBR website & see if the AU2 calipers have a different part no to the BA calipers. If the part no's are the same then they might work.

Finished the install today! absolutely amazing difference, it feels like a totally different car.
For the record i got all the replacement parts (lower control arm upright etc) from a wrecked AU3, also fitted a whiteline 27mm adjustable swaybar, swaybar linkages and brackets from ford and FTG 330mm rotors and calipers. Very, very pleased and highly reccomend it to anyone looking to do this. Chad |

Lower control arms, uprights, stub axles -$250 (also got upper contol arm, shocks, springs and a bent swaybar link but didnt use these).
Whiteline Swaybar - $250 FTG brake kit - $650 Sundries (brackets, bolts, freight etc) - $200 Total - $1350 About 8 hours worth of work, obviously didn't have to get the after market swaybar and being on the other side of the country to FTG doesn't help freight costs but i'm happy with the results and price. |

just done a conversion from sereis 1 to sereis 2 with the 322mm ftg kit on my fairlane V8 , all I could say what a of a job, the biggest problem was the sway bar mounting brackets inner bolts next to the etractors, had to tap into the rail, lucky ford have got some provisional holes set up but still needed tapping, had to dump the extractors on both sides.Have just driven the car braking feels way better and the brake pedal feels great, worth having it done

I have been hearing from many people that the ba brake lines break clean apart very frequently so i would advise better brake lines guys.

At our cab base we found the ba brake lines do brake so we replace them with the bf brake line and we haven't had a problem with them.
