My initial thought when i read about the steel bumper was that US bumpers get tested at a higher speed than ours, but i have no idea if it was even a co sideration for that.

Good question.
This gets into the history of bumper tests here: http://sparebumper.com/everybody-know-bumpers/ Interestingly, pickups, suvs and a 3rd class are not tested here. Vans are the 3rd class. Last edited by solarite_guy; 23-01-2018 at 05:24 PM. Reason: Added Vans |

Here all they are concerned about is how many pedestrians you can kill. FFS get off Facebook, otherwise you deserve to be killed for walking into a moving car. It's mad.

There’s a chance this could be the Australia-bound Ranger Raptor that’s debuting in Thailand on February 7. The wheels appear to match the ones we’ve seen in videos, as do the beefier fenders. But why is Ford testing it in the U.S.? We hope it’s because the Blue Oval is readying a Ranger Raptor for the North American market as well. We’ve heard the Australian market will get the Ranger Raptor with a tuned 3.2-liter turbodiesel I-5, but a high-output version of the twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 sounds like a nice fit for a U.S.-market model. The Aussie Ranger Raptor should also get a 10-speed automatic transmission, low-range transfer case, unique off-road-tuned suspension, and 17-inch wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich A/T tires. http://www.motortren...aught-u-s-soil/ Last edited by jpd80; 25-01-2018 at 09:53 PM. |

So far it seams to have everything but an engine that interests me. But hey maybe they will surprise us. Keep up uninformed assumptions though. |

At a price we can only dream about.
"Expect the Ranger Raptor to arrive in U.S. showrooms as a 2019 model sometime in the first half of next year. Prices are expected to compete with the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, which starts at $40,400 and increases with options. Perhaps Ford will also offer a turbodiesel and gasoline engine option, just like the Colorado ZR2, as well. Again, tune in to TopSpeed.com on February 7 for all the details." From Top Speed article.

umm no he doesn't Fordman1 fanboy.,I know exactly where its made
just stating my experience ,.fyi both pick ups were similar money low 50's , the Argentinian was a great car, (still got it has 345000klms) the Thai lady boy didn't compare in build quality , comfort or engineering ,..but i guess if you put it up against 5hitters like a Great wall or LDV you could argue its a ripper car . Imo you're being blind-sighted by good looks and clever marketing |

I could have sworn one of the Ford Australia videos said it was the 8th but I must be mistaken.
Edit: the video here says the 8th... https://practicalmotoring.com.au/car...-teased-video/ Last edited by naddis01; 07-02-2018 at 09:02 AM. |
