I also found that the "honor" system never works. There is always someone who ****s it up, always.
I did like the nurburgring nordshleife comp, didn't particularly care for the 'phoon (sorry guys, I appreciate the Aussie/Ford Patriotism behind it, but there are far better and more enjoyable cars to drive) but I had a go. Being a veteran of this game series I found that the best time I could crack with the 'phoon (3 goes, after that I couldn't be ****ed) was a low to mid 8 minute, with the best being around 8:12 or something. Once I saw times 30 seconds faster than that, I lost interest in participating too. Something was up. Like, I'm no expert, and don't proclaim to be, but even with continued practise and intimate knowledge of the course (which I kinda have nowadays, I really like the 'ring) I didn't think I'd better my time by any more that 10 seconds, tops. A "no-holds-barred" drag race would be a great idea, perhaps limit it to a specific model of car. See who has the best tuning ability... Everyone can mod to their hearts content, but technique will see you through here. It's only a straight line. |

i think a better idea would be to run the same idea, except let people do anything to the typhoon they want. at least that way you would know most are maxed out tuned and people set them up the way they want - trying to get the absolute fastest time

Anybody else got the BUICK Special '62? I know it's not a Ford, but even stock, it's not bad, and it looks awesome having something that old (and LOW) leaving newer cars for dead...
I'm not even going to try this competition around the nurburgring, however I am looking forward to this drag competition

well no offence but your times were way off the pace before so when you cheated and only got a low 7 second lap wouldnt that show that the people with the fastest times would smoke your *** if they cheated to all i can say is that the rules werent going to change until all the losers started crying about it then you change them to suit yourselves that is just bad sportsmanship there is no use in taking part in a drag comp because if you lot lose than you will probably just change the rules again. out:

look at yourself.
the prize was withdrawn because it was shown that you CAN cheat without being detected. now to be fair on EVERYONE a comp has been decided that cannot reward cheaters. this was meant to be a friendly comp, if u don't want to take part in it, then #$*()#)&%@)*&$*)(@#&$@#&(

thank you EF
my sentiments exactly, it was does as it was proven you can cheat, if i who only did a couple of laps can shave 1 min + off my time and the screen will still show stock kw then there is ways to screw with the system. You werent going to win anyway as your time had been beaten, so what is your problem ? if you dont like it deal and move on, MR_SIDO does NOT have to give out a prize this is from his colletion, and he is doing it to be nice, and the only way to do that is to have a fair competition which it was proven that the first one wasnt going to be At least a drag comp will be fair as it cant be cheated on if you dont like it stiff **** i say go have a cry elsewhere as i really dgaf what you think. If you dont want to join in the drag comp then no loss i say Chris

Now, if you are ****ed off about that, i would come to the conclusion that a) you do not care that people you were going against in the competition cheated or b) you cheated? thats all i will say |

well you were told there was a way to cheat at the begining of the comp and you would not change any of the rules than. So people have spent hours trying to get their best possible results and after all that certain people decide your little precious hat should stay in GIMPSLAND (as sbutler jnr called it) and you than change the conditions of the comp so how that is not changing it to suit yourselves i dont know. if you didnt want to part with the hat it should never have been offered as a prize.

so the only reason u participated in this is for the prize?
i don't know about you, but i didnt gaf about the hat, i wanted to see how i compared to other ppl on the forums in terms of times on that trakc. the origianl concept was a very good idea and those 'countless hours' spent trying to get a good time werent wasted. especially since YOU WERENT GOING TO WIN. get over it.

ok people, i really could not give a rats ar$e about the hat, i have stuff everywhere with marcus's signature on them, i just thought it may give people a little more incentive, This hat may well be worth something one day but i wanted to give it away to someone who is passionate about Fords, and why wouldent you be? Any way the GT4 Drag strip competition thread has been started, is there anyway this one can be deleted?

I personally think and i will check with admin. that if there is any more comps being held than there should be a guarantee that
1) There is an actual prize and it does exist 2) When the comp finishes it will be handed over 3) The rules will not be changed after the comp has started if this cannot be guaranteed than dont have a comp in the first place

was the hat posted up here or not? i have the hat sitting right here on my desk just itching to be given away, i have had to fend off every other employee here to be giving this hat away as a prize, i can guarantee that whoever wins the Drag strip comp will recieve this hat.
