Anyone else from the southside? just seeing so we can avoid having too many cars driving around if possible. If not, I'll be at Kedron anyway.

Bugger, I can't give out that many rep points in one day.

Anyway, a big thanks to all that are involved, you are all legends.

Lets not forget some slabs of bottled water, clean up is thirsty work and clean drinking water is a problem. I will bring some with me.

I was just thinking, perhaps we could get our counterparts from team red plugged into this as well, I know some here are members on LS1 forums etc.

Can do, no winners in this - just help. Do you want to get them on to it?

I think we have enough people to run our show now, no reason not to get more shows rolling though.

Yes guys, our friends at Bryan Byrt Ford have given us the trailer with gas for tomorrow.

Big thanks to Ben Ruxton with such late notice on this.

I will have drinks sorted, but if anyone wants to bring some more along that would be good. My only problem will be Eskis. I have 2, but we will need more for drinks??

Agreed, much better off having 5 teams of 10 rather than 1 team of 50. I think we should spread the word and get other car enthusiast forums getting teams together.

Well that was a day. Helpers turned up in droves and we managed to get most of the complex resembling some order.

What a great bunch Queenslanders are. No complaining, volunteers just taking charge and doing what has to be done for complete strangers. Many admitting a previous dislike, but singing praises for Anna Bligh and rightly so.

There are huge piles of damaged goods and equipment on the kerbs and in the back carpark. We filled a bin around the 20 cubes capacity in around an hour.

A couple of Ford nuts showed up and spent a few moments fawning over the XP

My wife setup a sausage sizzle on the weber and kept everyone fed and watered. The members considering doing the same are definetely on the right track. Any help is a huge help in these situations, lugging water soaked furniture, carpets, paperwork, wall sheeting etc drains the energy, especially in the high humidity working heat.

Incase some there today are members here (and I suspect at least one bloke helping is), thankyou from the bottom of my heart.

Bellbowrie could be a good destination for you guys to setup, as it's in a ***** of a spot on the river and northsiders would be able to get there quickest, apparently they are crying out for assistance.
I would love to offer help but I am skint at the moment and i've been asked to hang tight as my excavator may be called up to be utilised in the effort out west. I'll PM if i can attend otherwise.

Allow those of us who have suffered, the right to have a say. I am not alone in my sentiments, maybe you should come down to Sumner Park and look at what we have to deal with and lend a helping hand. All I've seen today are sight seers and cops asking me if I'm looting, all of them suitably concerned, but not moved to roll up the sleeves.

Wivenhoe was full, it had nill effect against the wash from the downs, The gates were opened wide and we recieved a 1+1 outflow. If controlled flooding had been implemented prior it would have had some containment capacity, but it didn't.
Hats off to you mate i wasnt shooting you down, but the mere thought of a review at this point in time is insane. Yeah maybe later on.
An event like this is hard to plan for at such short notice, yeah sure there was some water around but Brisbane had not a lot of time to prepare for it and have some controlled flooding so the 'main event' wasnt as bad or even none existant.
Keep up the good work.

Guys, ill see what I can do about sunday.. I may be able to bring the trailer out again perhaps to another location but lets play it by ear, see how we go tomorrow.

The plan is to hopefully set the bbq up with some eskis and drinks, and then perhaps send the ute around with some drinks in the back that we can hand out. I guess it will just depend on how busy we get but if I run out of drinks I will just go buy more. A few hundred on bottled water goes along way!

SETUP LOCATION

Guys, we're on a ripper of a thing here and it truly warms the heart that so many like minded people are prepared to help out with time, gear and cash.

But...

I still don't have a firm location to go to!! Kind of put the cart before the horse I know but when this started I was just taking my ute out for a drive to find somewhere to park and give away a snag or two

I/we need a location, Rosalie & Chelmer are getting a lot of time on the telly and I expect they will be well looked after tomorrow. Yeronga & Bellbowrie (where the frig is that?) are two suggestions - we need to lock this down as figuring it out on the run will waste a lot of time and irritate the people who have been so generous so far.

Yeronga?
Bellbowrie?
Rosalie?
St Lucia?
Chelmer?
Somewhere that isn't getting all the media attention??

One of us must know?

The Yeronga/Fairfield area isn't as bad as some other area's. Chelmer/Graceville are pretty bad from my understanding.

Maybe somewhere like Oxley / Rocklea.. Gotta remember these guys are at the poorer end of town too so alot of house holds will be struggling to eat at the moment...

Brent and I were just talking about this. I think we should look at areas such as Oxley, Rocklea etc as these areas got hit really hard and these are areas that do it tough in normal everyday life without these circumstances.

As ive already said Sunday is a possibility, I had something planned with work but it can wait another WEEK... Keeping the trailer another day wont be a problem, but we will need some more help possibly with meat / drinks for sunday... We may as well make the most of this great setup!! I urge people to get involved with this and perhaps donate some money towards this as people are hurting now, could be a while before the govenment can get payments out etc!!
