Up to 32 here in Gold coast /brisvegas but very humid..no dulling of performance...or (more) lag.

Going back to tyres went for Toyo teo plus stock size 205/55/16 at $165 each.
Made in Japan did a lot for me... as I am spending a lot of time at 110km/hr.

I have the same tyres on my i30. They don't handle as well as the original Kumhos, and I don't think they're great in the wet, but they're oh-so-quiet!

Mine seems odd, on hot days like these last two, it doesn't like responding to the accelerator, you need to push it in fairly far to get it to rev above idle, probably half way to 3/4 throttle, once you're moving its all ok though.

This thread has been extremely helpful as i'm currently in the market for a manual LV TDCi. I've done some long distance driving in an LT and it performed flawlessly. The only gripe would be the road noise generated on bad surfaces. If all goes to plan I will be reporting back here in a few weeks to let you know I got one.

edit: Someone mentioned rust in the hatch, where should I look to find it?

I've narrowed the clicking noise down to the drivers seat, when you accelerate, change gear, and your weight shifts forwards/backwards into the seat, the seat makes a loud clicking noise.

I'm not too fussed about it, as I've also got rattles, I just turn the stereo up louder, lol.

I've also noticed on moderate acceleration its chucking out a fair bit of soot/smoke.

Anyone tried Caltex's premium diesel? I've only used shell so far, but I'm considering filling it up at the Caltex around from work a few times, to see if it makes any difference.

I love Caltex Vortex Premium, I just can find Servo's around. They are few and far between, I us Shell now because it is more readily available. I find BP quality varies a bit, I usually know when my Mileage takes a turn down.

I have tried 20% Bio Diesel, it is great, more power and less chatter from the engine and better fuel economy. It is a bit hard to find and Ford say only 5% is what they recommend.

biodiesel:
pro
lubricity.
cheap.
con
incomplete burn (dilution in sump) over full sump will cause a runaway engine.
not clean burning (block DPF)

diesel:
con
low sulfer content for aiding DPF (used in lubication) just like lead.

Have used Caltex Vortex but there was no difference in the mileage or performance compared with the Shell Diesel I normally use. The Caltex cost a few cents more per litre as well when I tried it. Just use Shell now.

According to some scientists at the CSIRO, Biodiesel is the only renewable fuel source that is practical for the near future. I have never seen and data to prove what you have mentioned. I have never had issues with incomplete burn or additional fluids in the oil, Ford have said the use of Biodiesel is OK to use with DPF but only recommend 5% because of problems with some plastics in the fuel pump could cause a possible failure.

If what your saying is correct, I would be interested to read any data you might be able to supply as this could be a huge issue for us oilers.

Where did you find B20 from anyways? I've never even seen a 5% biodiesel pump either.

I use Caltex Vortex Diesel almost exclusively. Have only had one or two other diesels in my Focus. Haven't had any issues with fuel at all. Always get around the same economy.

i'll try and back my statment with proof somewhere..
as a heavy diesel mechanical engeneer, the injuctors in a commonrail are, teflon coated peizo electric...

the acid in biodiesel will destroy them, not the plasics in the pump..

ford and other's have expressed their concerns being forced by govco to use biodiesel, and have limited to 5% and must conforn to EU590 standard's that oz does "NOT" currently meet,,, in other word no warranty if used

I found out the next town along has "Shell Diesel Extra", I went there to fill up the car.

They have a high flow pump which actually fits in the fuel fillter on the Focus, I got 47L in about 30 seconds, it was crazy, it didn't foam up much either, I will try a few tanks of it over the next few weeks and we shall see how it goes.

At the moment at my local Shell servo (branded Shell, Scotts SA owned) I'm getting 5.3L/100km 95% highway 100km/h work, 550km a week.

thats the one thing about the cruze, it has a skinny filler neck.
idiots..

line up with the cars for one bowser or the truck stop that has 10 unused one's.

Lucky You! The filler on the LT diesel only takes the small nozzle pump not the truck one unless you insert the plastic funnel they provide first.

I think its still a normal one, as the normal high flow pump in my local servo doesn't fit, this was slightly bigger, just fit in the filler but it pumped out a LOT of diesel really quickly.

The best thing about this servo other than premium diesel and a seemingly high flow pump, the diesel pump is separate from the rest of the pumps, I feel like royalty just cruising up to my own pump while every other sucker waits in line.

Haha, yeah, I'd like to drive those big dump trucks in the mines

Anyhoo, the car is booked in for a minor service next week and to get the springs installed at my local mechanic.

I have the rear camber kit and the swaybar still, is there any install guides for those? I'd like to attempt that myself if there is any modifications needed as it would be cheaper for me to do it myself.

I've taken it up and down Mount Macedon a good 20 or so times in the last week, going around the 10km/h off camber hairpins I'm Captain Big Damo of the HMAS Focus, body roll and understeer all the way.

Thats the eibach pro-kit springs in there, now the ride is a bit firmer, you don't get that big-*** nose dive under heavy braking anymore and the car doesn't lift much under acceleration.

Still a bit of body roll there, but the sway bar will fix that.

I also noticed my front right is completely rooted on the far inside, its got chunks missing out of it.

I don't really wash it because I travel down dirt roads all the time, so I'll wash it one day, go down a dirt road a few hours later and I'm back in square one.

I took it through the laser wash at Sunbury and it pretty much does F-all.

5 x 108, Offsets : 35 to 50 are OK.

Good to hear you got those springs in. They make a huge difference don't they?

Certainly do, its not rough either which is nice, the forward/backwards dive of the car is basically zero now, it brakes so much smoother, rather than slightly tapping the brakes and its like a boat in the ocean going up and down a huge wave.
