How often do you guys check the same store? Since it takes them soo long re stock Transformers, I only tend to look every few months. Therefore I haven't checked the same store twice yet.

Oh come on, who pays $90 for a hotwheels car thats less than a year old? You could get old Traxx collectibles for that.

Just picked up another Yellow Hotwheels XB from K-Mart Belmont. They still haven't got any 2011 Cars. I still haven't seen any Blue ones in any Shops.
I got a Green 72 Gran Torino Sport (just like in the Clint Eastwood Movie, minus the Vinyl Roof), a 69 Torino Talledega and Batmobile from Target. Win!

I got a few newies today, a Shelby GT500 KR (same as in the newer Knight Rider series) - wouldn't mind trying my hand at customising it to a new KITT!
I still have to put up the display case I was given for my birthday on the wall, holds 24 cars or something. Also going to have to ask my friend where she got it, because I'm going to need about 10 of them! I'm also going to have to go through what I've got and maybe organise to start selling off some doubles. I can never remember what I've got, and tend to double up, when in probability and reality I really only need one of each design, fair enough to have the same car in different paint jobs but two of the exact same is overkill. Unless of course they're special or collectible like XB's or the Ghostbusters Ecto-1's. Will try sort out some of the cars I have and get them displayed properly and get some photos up of what I've bought since I started this thread!

My God ... I can't believe I haven't stumbled upon this thread sooner.
I had soooooooo many Matchbox cars when I was a kid ... I had cases of them ... used to sit down and play with them for hours on end each day (like some people sit in front of game consoles and play today). Collected some of the old larger scale vintage stuff as well that were still sealed in boxes. Also had a heap of the trucks as well. I have been thinking of starting a collection for my 18 month old boy ... as all he seems to say at the moment is "Car" when he thinks we are going out. He loves playing with the larger ones for his age. I have browsed at shops a bit ... and am amazed at some of the cars out there at the moment (sooooo tempted to buy a whole swag after seeing them too). This thread is going to keep me busy this afternoon browsing through all 13-odd pages.

I managed to find a sc T-hunt "Baja Beetle" today but no XB's. :(
I'm not actually a collector myself so i'm willing to swap it for a packaged XB toanyone that may be interested.

I started collecting them last year, never thought about collecting the whole series, just dream cars and ones i thought were awesome. Pick them up every now and then, the gf's little brother is 8 and car mad so i hook him up with some every now and then...still trying to convert him to the blue power side of the coin. His old man is a die hard Holden man...always jokes that i'm a good kid, except i amd a ford boy...and a NSW supporter in origin...and a Waratah supporter...

Since I was about 2 I have been getting them. When I was old enough to stop, my younger brothers have been getting them. We now have literally thousands and thousands of them.
My brother is still getting new ones every now and then. |

I haven't got that red 67 Mustang yet - must keep my eyes peeled - good time to be hunting with stores stocking up for Christmas!
Only problem is fighting your way through a hoard of children to hunt the good ones. Hot Wheels cars should NOT be placed in the toy sections of shops! lol
