Up to 32 here in Gold coast /brisvegas but very humid..no dulling of performance...or (more) lag.
Going back to tyres went for Toyo teo plus stock size 205/55/16 at $165 each. Made in Japan did a lot for me... as I am spending a lot of time at 110km/hr. |

This thread has been extremely helpful as i'm currently in the market for a manual LV TDCi. I've done some long distance driving in an LT and it performed flawlessly. The only gripe would be the road noise generated on bad surfaces. If all goes to plan I will be reporting back here in a few weeks to let you know I got one.

I've narrowed the clicking noise down to the drivers seat, when you accelerate, change gear, and your weight shifts forwards/backwards into the seat, the seat makes a loud clicking noise.
I'm not too fussed about it, as I've also got rattles, I just turn the stereo up louder, lol. I've also noticed on moderate acceleration its chucking out a fair bit of soot/smoke. |

Anyone tried Caltex's premium diesel? I've only used shell so far, but I'm considering filling it up at the Caltex around from work a few times, to see if it makes any difference.

Have used Caltex Vortex but there was no difference in the mileage or performance compared with the Shell Diesel I normally use. The Caltex cost a few cents more per litre as well when I tried it. Just use Shell now.

Where did you find B20 from anyways? I've never even seen a 5% biodiesel pump either.

I use Caltex Vortex Diesel almost exclusively. Have only had one or two other diesels in my Focus. Haven't had any issues with fuel at all. Always get around the same economy.

I found out the next town along has "Shell Diesel Extra", I went there to fill up the car.
They have a high flow pump which actually fits in the fuel fillter on the Focus, I got 47L in about 30 seconds, it was crazy, it didn't foam up much either, I will try a few tanks of it over the next few weeks and we shall see how it goes. At the moment at my local Shell servo (branded Shell, Scotts SA owned) I'm getting 5.3L/100km 95% highway 100km/h work, 550km a week. |

Lucky You! The filler on the LT diesel only takes the small nozzle pump not the truck one unless you insert the plastic funnel they provide first.

Haha, yeah, I'd like to drive those big dump trucks in the mines
Anyhoo, the car is booked in for a minor service next week and to get the springs installed at my local mechanic. I have the rear camber kit and the swaybar still, is there any install guides for those? I'd like to attempt that myself if there is any modifications needed as it would be cheaper for me to do it myself. I've taken it up and down Mount Macedon a good 20 or so times in the last week, going around the 10km/h off camber hairpins I'm Captain Big Damo of the HMAS Focus, body roll and understeer all the way. Thats the eibach pro-kit springs in there, now the ride is a bit firmer, you don't get that big-*** nose dive under heavy braking anymore and the car doesn't lift much under acceleration. Still a bit of body roll there, but the sway bar will fix that. I also noticed my front right is completely rooted on the far inside, its got chunks missing out of it. |

What is the stud pattern for the LV Focus, is it 5x108? +45 offset?

5 x 108, Offsets : 35 to 50 are OK.
Good to hear you got those springs in. They make a huge difference don't they? There is a swaybar installation guide on the xr5 turbo forums with pics. |
