Nope, the do indeed sit "too far forward". The ones in the magazine advert were right down near the front of the bonnet. Maybe there's a newer design?

I'm just always wary of claims of "instant power" and "sharper throttle response"....

On another note, here's a cool spoiler I found out and about, think it suits the lines perfect and goes with the crooked exhaust

That's why everyone puts chevy badges on them.
Doesn't mean is ts a good idea.

Chrysler 300C and Jeep Grand Cherokee are made with Mercedes parts.
Never seen one of them with a Merc badge.

As a train driver I'm just boggled at that bent set of wheels and axles just in front of that poor old Falcon...I know how heavily built those things are, and the forces involved to bend one like that are awesome.

That's embarrassing to Mercedes.

In the '90's, every second one of those pig-ugly sh1tboxes seemingly had a Mercedes badge slapped on the back of 'em. And that was back when Mercedes were actually good quality vehicles too...

Made you wish you had a Pre-Printed dymo tag saying "this ain't no Merc" to stick on the back of 'em

I know a couple of long term dole bludgers who bought one a year ago and told everyone they bought a Mercedes trying to make out they were top ***.

I enjoyed cutting them down

Saw a blue BA XR6 this morning with "MR GTP" custom plates. Wasn't able to get a pic though.
Not sure if you can call that a fail?

Apologies if I just described a member's car.

There's also a white Camry around my suburb that has a GT-P badge and stickers on it.

Believe it or not that is factory, and well before the FPV GT-P.

Warning : Eco-whine follows. Avert eyes if sensitive.

How much fuel is used accelerating the weight of useless bl**dy spoilers everyday ?

Seeing decrepit old codgers cautiously driving around in GTSHSVRS - badged sedans that will never rev above 2 000 RPM while they own them is just so annoying.
The spoilers and other trim pieces do nothing at legal speeds except restrict visibility, and the old coots need as much of that as they can get.
Some cheapy pusbox with 'performance' written all over it (like that blue Hyundai 'Rex' - clone) is just a car, yet the extra weight is burning up precious fuel that could be used on a dragstrip ......

Rant ends.

i agree with you about them being way ahead of the VR EF and if they were RWD they would of sold better too..
that magna shape stayed with us till 2005....could you see holden and ford selling EF or VR based cars in 2005

apart from a $2000 numberplate saying exactly what the badge beside it says?

its like me getting "A FAIRLANE" on my nc fairlane when to the left is the badge saying fairlane...

and besides i wouldnt be bragging about owning or even driving a camry

The Camry joke's about the contrast between a characterless car for people who like beige, yet who spend up on a plate that says 'camrys are special' ie. like an old Lambo Silhouette or such-like.
Though the camry owner may just have an extremely dry sense of the droll ...

Exactly; plus it's a mobile embarrassment for all the wrong reasons.

Just don't wait too long until it or it's equivalent proudly holds you up in the right hand lane of the freeway, complete with the bowlers hat on the rear parcel shelf.

Pride in the ordinary, amongst real enthusiasts, is downright embarrassing to see.
