Yea, my RHD Canadian Torino (LOL) gets heaps of looks. Unlike Australia where we are used to foreign cars the Americans see something odd it must be Canadian or Mexican & RHD is not something they are used to seeing so driving around with one of the kids in the front seat can really cause traffic & the cops to double & tripple take even :

Hey Pat,

Thanks mate, glad to see Max back in Oz
with the 3.89 rear gear with 295x50x15s I can turn 100mph@3,200rpm (see pic below), easy rule is what ever your current auto does just drop 1,000rpm off in top (4th) with the AOD & make sure not to use the AODe they aren't as strong & cost more to build. A mate of mine in the US put one in his Landau & says its the greatest thing hes ever done.

The whole deal is pretty straight froward
Lockar TV cable #LOK-KD2AODHT or #LOK-KDP-2AODHT (polished finish)
AOD convertor & box
FMX or AOD flex plate
FMX tail shaft
c4 shifter rod
short c4 or AOD input shaft
FMX gbox mount & slot the cross member mount holes apprx 3/8" to the rear

cheers
Lawrence :

PS heres a couple shots of a mate Max car for ya that I took when we did a road trip to California with him

Hi Guys,

I bought this a little over a couple of years ago and have really done nothing to it at this stage. My ZG is currently being worked on and so the coupe has to wait. Anyway, I've thrown this in the coupe section and when I start the rebuild (probably next year) at least I'll have a few before photos.

Cheers

Trent

Hey Fellas,

Its ok from a distance but needs real work. Just starting to get rust come through now. The dash doesnt work and the engine bay needs a full tidy up. I figure If I'm going to do this, I should really do it probably. Don't tell anyone but the colour on this coupe is a Hyundai Maroon! It was put on the car by the previous owner. I hope to do something a little more classy. But I do appreciate your comments. ZG first, that will give me some wheels and then I can play with the toy

This is one of my favorite pix of my car. Cruisin with great mates and having a cold one at a great little pub in the middle of nowhere. All Big Block coupes.

About 15km from Echuca heading to Shepparton. Missed it on the way there and missed it on the way back, but luckily one of the co-drivers (very thirsty co-driver) spotted it and we made our way back there. Just one of many highlights during the Coupe Anniversary weekend!

Hi Guy's,

Just thought I'd add my coupe to the pages here, she a 1975 XB GS, originally an South Australian girl..... pick her up a few years back with some help from Brad, was going to make her a Mad Max replica when I bought her but then just fell in love with the shape & didn't want the hassles from the bronze I knew I'd get from a MM car.6

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

The original motor went from a V8 to a V7 & then quickly down to a V5 after about a year (& VW will claim them invented the V5..... ha!!) so I got another one of a mate for a slab of VB & rebuilt it....

Also have a 75 XB Falcon 500 that I pick up not long after the first coupe as a parts car, came with 2 x XB interiors & a complete Landau interior, all for $500.... of how times have changed!!

Hey Dave,

Let me be the first to welcome you to AFF. Nice ride BTW. They always say you should learn something every day and I just found out who the Aussie Stig is

Hope to see you around the forum, and who knows, maybe on the road.

Take care

P.S. You should think about changing your forum name to your number plate
