Welcome to the forums. Yes, pics please!! Nothing wrong with being greedy. I'd love to see the difference between Flame Red and Fireglow Red. Never knew there were 2 different Reds in the XC range.

The visor now resides in the shed - i'll keep it for originality sake but dosen't help in the looks department. The lovely plastic hub caps got turfed to reveal the original 12 slots (although printed black). The lower front guards require rust replacement & the front of the car is heavily stone chipped. Paid a fortune for a replacement grill as the original was used to take out a small roo some time back. I believe the only paint / body repairs that have been done is the passanger door replaced & minor tuchups on the front guard corners - otherwise all original paint, which would buff up very nice but there is several minor scratches etc. I've replaced all the front original riveted steering and suspension components - but keeped the original springs. The car is hiding the the shed awaiting an large injection into my bank account to be spent reconditioning engine, transmission & engine bay. Long term I would love to see it redressed into it's original NSW Highway patrol gear & used as a pace car for the V8 classic marsters.

hello george and bearman thanks for your kind words i do own 2 falcon hardtops but i also know where there are 2 orther xc falcon hardtops in need of restoring that i would like to get my hands on the female owner wont budge if only i could convince her they will go to a good home and then convince my wife i would be in xc falcon hardtop heaven i will download some pics soon i received my wheels 2 weeks ago from neale wheels am very happy thanks once again george for your help bearman im not really sure but i think flame red was an early xc color and fireglow red was a late xc color ive chosen to paint the flame red coupe fireglow red only because im hooking up with my friends limo service and thought it would be nice to have identical cars for weddings and cruisers

Saw a yellow and black XA GT here in Ballarat today. Apparently has just arrived from WA. Had no plates on it but looked awesome! Will see what else I can suss out on it.

I have a 10/76, flame red xc fairmont coupe i am restoring.
I have tried to research car on net but have read everywhere the coupes were not made until dec 76. This has confused me.

xc coupes started in july76.. 10 were built.
111 falcons and 113 fairmonts were built in october 76, largest ever run of fairmonts for any month thru the xc range.

As I have mentioned elsewhere,I once owned a 6/76 XC Coupe (JG 65 SK)As the XC was released in July Ford would have to build a few examples before then.As the change over from XB to XC was in June I think for paper work reasons they recorded the XCs as July builds so not to confuse them with XB builds.I hope this helps too.

I'd be happy to swap George, lol. The colour might not be common, but since it needs a respray and it's just a '500m it's not worth keeping to plate specs.

As it is, I'm looking into finding a replacement shell to this one and selling this one off. But I don't think many other people would be interested in it, due to it's current condition. Maybe risk the ebay sell...

Also, I had been told that the white roof was vinyl. Not sure if that's true, as the 88 code just says white roof. Certainly the hole in the roof suggests vinyl...

Ah! It would still have had trim where the colours meet though wouldn't it? There's trim holes in the quarters.
