what about the spinners you could attach to your mag wheel centres back in the 80's made the wheels look like they had MG style centre lock wheel nuts.

That's true of 90% of speed shops in Manila, but there are quite a few who do full-on turbo conversions, engine swaps, stage 1 & 2 lightening, etc.
There's also a whole cottage industry that churns out full, turn-key stainless steel or fibreglass jeep replicas (not the public transport jeepneys, but smaller, private vehicles). Like these:

I'd say they make up 20-25% of vehicles on the roads.

That said, the youtube video is shocking. I feel so embarassed for them. Installing a cone filter and a spinning thingy in the intake, then slapping a "Turbo" sticker on there is just delusional. What makes it worse is the slick video they made to show off their mediocrity.

I should have taken a photo but the owners were standing there and it would've seemed pretty sus bahaha :P
But another car to Ballarat's finest was this early 2000's Camry, silver in body color, crappy hand drawn purple flame vinyl on the bonnet and front quarter panels, weird 15" Chrome wheels at stock height with a cannon muffler on the back. When I saw it I let out a large "BAHAHA" and I think they might have heard me :P

i assume you are thinking of these - the jeepneys. if not, it is a good reason to post them, even if they are a win to me

lucky there are no speed cameras in manila - what with not speedo and all

this is on the passenger side, but either way, not much veiwing potential

they are fantastic vehicles when all painted up - i want one
