just bear with me as before to started to tow your 17 ft carvan just double check with all rubber suspension including both diff are in good condition as very liking they will fail before the car reaches 190000 KM best is to replace with Polyurethane bushes like Nolathane or Super-Pro as my Territory has been replaced with Polyurethane bushes including front diff bushes This is very common on Territory

Hi Keith Got the wrong message. What i am trying to say is about rubber bushes front and rear suspension in including front and rear diff bushes. unfortunately its not all about diff bearings. Best to talk to suspension specialist beware stay away from any ford dealer and their own mechanics . if you will find on long trip eventually when you towing caravan or not first thing rear rubber diff bushes will eventually fail no matter how you drive and this is very common on all Australia made ford cars my territory rear diff bushes was replace 130000 Km by someone else before i brought the territory and now 2 years nearly 200000 km with Super Pro i had no issues or any problem therefore i am far much happier

can someone describe how you re route the water cooling hose from the EGR
back to the engine.

G'day,
I'm a new member, been reading as a guest for a fair while and thought it time to sign up. I'm an old Mopar man that was forced to the other side by them building no more Aussie Mopars so that meant I had to become a Blue Oval - couldn't go a Bowtie. I have 2 BFs, one my ex-taxi, and an FG which is my current taxi, all ex police cars. Have run Falcons since the EA as my taxi and, while everything has its problems they have been pretty good to me. nice to read your post Paul. I'm an ex-taxi driver of Sydney, Darlinghurst during the 60s when I was a student. Those were the days of GIs on R&R from Viet Nam here to have a break from the killing. I heard most Aussie Diggers went to Hawaii for their hols.
I drove all the new or near new Fords of the 60s about 250/300km per day. I remember the old hand wind-up meters before the electric ones came about.

Thanks for the welcome Keith. Yes it was a while back we were taking the Americans from one bar to the next and from that one to the next one. They were good customers and, yes, it was a nuisance when you'd realize the meter wasn't showing waiting time or ticking and you'd have to reach down and up under the dash to grab the wire or chain and wind the meter up again. They are a lot better these days and I believe the new ones may be doing the measuring by GPS.
I must say thank you to those who make this forum possible and seem to make it work and put up so much info. All these things take a lot of time and effort. I hope I can contribute bits here and there. But for now I've got a cam sensor to check and probably replace. My 'ex' decided to run like a chaff-cutter today and it throws up codes for B bank cam sensor.

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a new Territory diesel titanium RWD. The run-off is against a new Outback 2.5i premium. There was no run-off until I survived the death stare and dragged the "better half" to a Ford dealer and made her drive it...she then went back for her own individual test drive a couple of days later.

Basically it comes down to the high tech, quality and less $$$ of the Outback vs the driveability, space and practicality of the Ford.

The reason we're looking is our current 2010 SH Forester diesel. We like the car but the engine's not been 'finished' properly- it's the DPF regen issues. I've never wilfully abused a car until I got sick of the DPF regen! So if any likes a good roll-your-eyes and "tut-tut-tut" you can have a look over yonder at my thread elsewhere. And it's not the only one...

I realise the Territory diesel is not EURO5/6 (I believe EURO4) but frankly I'm willing to cut my losses (and the environment's) for stablised engine performance.

And my intro to the Territory was a test drive in a SZ (I think) AWD diesel at work- Canberra to the Central Coast and back in a day. Now that was a revelation in SUV road handling manners!

Anyways, I'm off to sniff through the Territory forum for info and post a few questions to help align my (and my wife's) decision. I'll post some queries there. Main ones focus around the Rear DVD spec, brake binding issues, 7vs 5 seats, cargo barriers, hi-beam effectiveness, reliability (some 'lemon' reports out there) and any diesel problems esp. slow off-the-mark.

Well, what can I say: Searched around the Territory subforum area and whaddaya know? Most of my questions were answered without having to post! Just one or two topics left, such as the binding brakes and hi-beam effectiveness, so I'll start a thread or two.

Several more hints, tips and useful tidbits of info picked up along the way too.

Long time lurker, first time posting. Live in auckland. Currently own a ba falcon xr6 turbo and territory turbo xr. Love them both to pieces. I was over in Aussie a few weeks back perth to be specific. I must say some of the fords I saw cruising around you lot are dam lucky. Anyways off to post in the territory section.

Hi all
Returning to "real" car ownership myself having recently purchased my 2nd ZG. Owned the first in the late 80's (written off by oncoming traffic) then had a ZF in the 00's which I sold for a song when moving house.
Found this forum when looking for clues to deal with overheating issues in traffic in newly purchased ZG (Cleveland).
Found a few discussions re this that sound helpful, local mechanic has just changed hands and new owner tells me he did his apprenticeship on ZG's so looks like good timing for me.

My names Mike and for my sins I drive a Mk3 BF Wagon. Heading off next week towing a 16ft Caravan to Cape range National Park from Albany WA. Not exactly the heaviest pop top van .... Recently had the transmission flushed with new Transmission oil and also the diff ... Do I really need a Transmission Oil Cooler fitted.

My only experience is with an XD fitted with 4.1 and C4 auto towing a reasonably heavy catering van - cooked the recently recoéd transmission in 100k (in hilly country). I would say you need a cooler but ask an auto transmission man.

Hi all
I am new to this forum and own a ford territory sx, I was looking into doing a full service myself on this vehicle as the warranty has now run out and want to save a dollar or two, I'm not an expert at this, by no means, I have done a full service on my wife's, holden barina, I was pleased with myself.

So thought how hard can it be, I opened the hood and couldn't even find the oil filter, so I quickly closed it again!

Any tips would be great in completing this task!

Hi Guys,
I am new to the site and would just like to say thanks to everyone for the information posted on this site. the info I have got off here is awesome. I have just bought a BA XR8 ute and are looking at a few options to just tidy her up a bit. I see there seems to be a problem with the timing chain tensioners and oil pumps. I am not a driver who will be flogging around the streets doing burn outs and drifting everywhere, so I would just like to know if this is a must to change these out, if just cruising around?

that does have something wrong with it being a timing chain ratle at start-up.any help would be apreciated

My Name is Scott and I've just bought a MB Mondeo XR5 Turbo.

I am so freaking happy with the car - it is VERY European in driving style and it goes pretty well by the way...

I know its a bit of anathema to all of the rear wheel drive models that would normally be associated on this forum but the Mondeo XR5 is a cracking car well worthy of its Ford Badge...

Is there many other XR5 Mondeo's on this forum and is there an active group of people who meet and cruise?
