Price transparency is non existent, it's a sham pricing system that they never tell us how it really works.

But seriously they basically just change the price as they feel like it. And of course the ACCC and any other government agency gives no *******'s, or they just dont have any power to do anything. |

Ye I dont get why last year we saw petrol @$1.00 per litre and now this year crude oil is another 10 bucks lower per barrel but pump prices are still around $1.13.
Surely we should be paying sub $1.00 per litre??? One thing for sure is 2016 is going to be VERY VERY interesting for the worlds economies!!! |

Iran is now allowed to sell on the open market again as sanctions have been lifted

IIRC the highest fuel got to when the the exchange rate was 50c to the $US1 was $1.51.
Now we are at $0,70 and il is $US46 for a barrel in Singapore. We are being bent over royally on fuel prices and the regulator is powerless to prevent this complete and utter misuse of market power.

Slight dive. Nothing spectacular, but a noticeable difference when you're filling up at the servo.

Fuel in Craigieburn (Melbourne) is 99.9cpl (with 4cpl discount). Been a long time since I've seen fuel under $1 per litre.......

Fuel in NZ's at $1.67 (incl. petrol tax), which is the lowest I've seen in a very long time. I'm finally able to fill up a tank and not hit the triple digits!

Tas price for diesel this week is around $1.20 litre.Granted that production costs have gone up but 3-4 years ago when the barel price was around$100 our fuel prices were around$1.60 per litre. Now when the barrel price is under.$30 we are still paying well over what we should be.

At the price of 92.9 cents, what is the real price minus government taxes ect.
It would probably be around 50 cents.

Its all BS.
How can the same petrol in the servo tank cost 0.99 cents one day and the next day the price is $1.20. The tanker has not even come and filled the tanks yet, its the same petrol as yesterday. I know the price cycle controls the price. |

Here in Tassie RACT have gone into an arrangement with United whereby RACT members will get 8c litre discount. This will be for 2 months mid March till mid May then the discount drops to 6 cents.I presume we will also still get our Colesworth 4c discount. If we get both we are getting back to a still too expensive 1.05 or so for diesel

Filled the car last night for about $70. A few years ago it was costing about 50% more to fill the same car.

This is a pleasant change from being bent over , i did see an article a few days ago where the ruskys and oil shieks where talking about limiting supply to bring the price back up, dont know what happened there ,
i could be wrong but i reckon if prices where to shoot back up to exorbitant levels they might actually shoot themselves in the foot, due to the current world economy, will have to wait and see. |
