yes VK. the VL bonnet plastic vent extends the whole length, no seperation in the middle. it has too much of a 300C grill look. and the bumper just looks cheaply made.

ill hand it to the owner, they put alot of effort in but curvy and boxy just dont go well together

Reminds me of that horrid AU coupe that a bloke made. The one with the 300C type grille. (pics in this thread)

they both must fails because the builders put so much time into them and did a great job. sure they may not be as asthetically pleasing as most of us would like, but i would like to see the fail police get anywhere near the quality that these two did

Yes, Im aware I couldnt build such a thing to a high standard. However, like all things in this world, its subject to peoples opinions. And I think its godawful. Regardless of its technical finesse.

maybe so, i do not like either of them, but to me the imagination and application are worth much more than asthetics. i do not have to like them, but i can appreciate the amount of effort that went into them - besides the au looks better than 90% of the cars holden ever made

if people did not have this imagination, then cars as we know them would not exist. hot rodding was the reason car manufacturers started making hot looking cars - and many of those hot rods would have been laughed at too, even though they changed the automotive world

i was being just a little sarcastic, but to me the amount of metal work on that is awesome. i cannot begin to understand just how many hours went into it

i cannot wait to see pics of your project that proves without a doubt that there is no quality of workmanship in either of those vehicles

Probably about the same amount in alcohol that the designer consumed whilst making the sketch

Mostly, pre 1970 is my thing!
I can understand what's gone into the AU and i appreciate that someone's owned it (pride and joy) but it's dead set ugly!
Wasn't it in Just Cars and/or Unique Cars for a long time for $30 grand??

Had to comment on this. I once had to pack 3 lots of scuba diving gear into the back of a VX sedan. That's the tanks, wetsuits, vests, flippers and all the other bits and pieces. Was all good until I realised how far down those stupid hinges go into the boot space.

Still a decent sized boot despite that, but surely they could of come up with a better system.

I'm pretty sure this was built by the bloke who did the Au coupe, I was talking to him at a swap meet a while back and he said he was doing a Holden ute in orange and was going to feature a 300c ish grille. Nice old bloke, well into his 70s but has got way to much time on his hands.
