Yep, cant disagree to much. However I note that most of the parts and styling came straight off the Fairmont etc. Whereas BFII actually got all new lights grill bonnet etc. Either way, I cant with the few saying that this new Falcon wil just be a series III. It is worthy of a model distinction of its own.

I agree it wont be badged that way either. However a few here are saying it is not worthy of a new model name.

I think it deserves to be called a 'new' model, not 'all new' as that would be lying lol. Plus Ford will called it a 'new model' as a marketing strategy. Anyone who isn't a Falcon fan or car lover would be pretty easily fooled by the new Falcon not being a new model, as the new front and rear will give it a noticeably different look to the current Falcon FG MKII. I think Ford will let the old bird go out with one last hurrah.
They even admitted to the Falcon being one of the "better products" that they were currently working on, as well as Ford's Global designer really upbeat about the new look and can't wait to get it out onto the road! |

They showed a bunch of us employees the new Falcon today. I had about half an hour to pore over an XR8 and a G6E.
They do both look excellent, and it is a significant new look front and rear. It's going to surprise a lot of people. Interior is not so different but changes to colours and trims, and minor detail changes are good enough to make it seem different inside. And anyone who couldn't afford a GTF will still get some serious grip, stop and go with the XR8. That's about I can divulge. So I will leave it at that. I avoided being made redundant last week and it's something I would rather avoid. |

Here are the new XR8 rims, which look to be new not recycled FPV ones:

Professor Farnsworth,
They'll use the ones in the tease for sure. At the moment on the test models their using FG MKII and FPV wheels so the new ones aren't revealed, etc etc. They'll highly likely use the fresh set of wheels in the tease vid. To freshen up the range. |

Yep I saw it today as well, black XR8.The colour certainly hides the new raised hood.It does look aggressive to me and my favourite stand out part of the car was the rear. The rear lights looked great. This new FG will certainly look different from the current FG considering the rather little sheetmetal changes compared to the VF.I thought it(XR8) would've had the current F6 spoiler but it had the XR6's.

Ford aren't going to show wheels, lights etc, in a teaser and not put it into production as they know the backlash they'll get from customers if they do so.
So what's the harm in stating the obvious? They updated the wheels with the FG MKII, so for sure the new range will have new wheels. It' completes the look of a 'new model'. |
