In Australia, 64% of identified cases are in the under 50 age group with males having 137 cases / 100k and females 102/100k.
That obviously leaves 36 % of cases in the over 50 age group at 152/100k for males and 130/100k for females so in both genders the infection rate is higher in the over 50's age group - or less of the under 50's are getting tested. 153 of the 155 deaths have been in the 50+ age group with the CMR worsening as you get older - it's zero up to 40; 0.11% for 40-49; 0.16% for 50-59; 0.84% for 60-69; 4.47% for 70-79 and 16.97% for the over 80's.

Unfortunately flattening this 2nd outbreak will take more time than the first. The first C19 outbreak was in decline by week 3-4. We are now into week 5 of the 2nd outbreak with no seen abatement. |

Did everyone miss this?
Very bold to make the statement even though it's just a projection. If he gets it wrong, Labor bashers will have an absolute field day.

https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nat...b00b1c423d2908 Most sensible people have unpacked the political BS being fed to them and realise that the 2nd outbreak has someways to go. |

I am glad it has not gone up exponentially; It is never going to be easy to bring it under control the second time around.
It also highlights some of the underlying issues in our society; taking social responsibility, doing the right thing for common good, different communities approaching these issues from different viewpoints, impact of more casual workforce in some industries etc. Time will tell; we will get through this. Just considering ourselves in NSW lucky for the time being. Regards, George V |

Avi Yemini talking about masks
https://twitter.com/OzraeliAvi/statu...232481792?s=09 Makes a lot of sense, the person at Bunnings or the police aren't the people you have a crack at, they're just doing their jobs. |

I'd love the media to rock up at my place, I'd have a bucket of human feces ready to throw over them on national TV to tell them what I think of these cheap propagandists. |

I did a few years ago until I figured out what it was. Gluten
Could be an allergy or could be that you recently had your gall bladder removed? Removing the gall bladder means your no longer producing the enzyme which breaks down gluten in the gut/intestines as a result the gluten removes the lining from your intestine and leaks directly into the bloodstream and then into the brain causing inflammation and really intense nightmares. Throbbing pain, auditory hallucinations, extreme paranoia, severe anxiety, mood swings, etc. In either case I would start looking at your diet and removing certain ingredients. Start by removing Gluten. |

Starts off mild. Will get more and more intense, some days you wake up thinking you are going to die. Stays with you for about a minute. I've been told it's a panic attack. I had it often during a bad period. Haven't had one for a while now. It's a rush but a really terrible rush.

532 new cases for Australia and 6 deaths sees the CMR rises to 1.078% and active cases rise to 5,603. NSW recorded 17 and the balance were in Victoria but after reclassification it fell 5 cases short of breaking the previous highest daily total.
0 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.414% and active cases remain at 21. The UK recorded 685 new cases and 7 deaths yesterday so the CMR drops to 15.247%. Just over 56k new cases in the USA yesterday and 450 deaths sees CMR down to 3.428% and active cases at 48.8% with the raw numbers still rising. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences. Other notable points: Brazil completes 16M and Russia 27M tests; Libya (158), Uzbekistan (678) and Ghana (1,118) all recorded new daily highs, those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

Its interesting to me to look at things from a different angle. Yes things have changed and normal is not the old normal, but things have been going on for enough time that to my young bloke, doing the recomended is just normal. He doesnt miss the old times. For him its much a muchness. I mean fair enough a 10 year old never missed the pub etc. And looking at the past 12 months, there has been so many 'extremes' in a short time. So its interesting to me how on one end some adults are fed up with everything and not really doing the situation any favours, and on the other end to some kids doing the recommended is considered normal life.
