Hi everyone,
Just bought my first Ford. A 2010 Territory AWD Limited Edition. Lovely car. I've also got a one year old baby. Hence the change. Site looks great, happened across it looking up info on what I can do with the car now I have it. Will definitely hang around. Take it easy. IK |

Hi Everyone
We bought a Ford Ranger Wildtrak which we are very happy with. With the purchase we ordered a Ford 'Genuine Accessories' Bull Bar. We have had trouble with wind noise at 80kms/hr and over, and it also does not seem to fit the car properly. Has anyone else had this same experience? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks. |

Hey everyone, hello to you all
New member Crabby from eastern Vic here Thank you for your welcome to this site and allowing me access to the collective knowledge of the many who subscribe and post. Already you all have saved me many hours of unnecessary troubleshooting and many hundreds of dollars with your advice, it really is appreciated. My ride, a kind of patched together less than stock 03/00 Mako AU xls ute, that found its way into my driveway on the weekend past. Missing many original bits and pieces and certainly has been missing the TLC that a Ford deserves. I will be looking for many more pearls of wisdom and parts as I get this pretty lady back into shape. Thanks again, Crabby |

Hi peeps,
I'm a vehicle technician, did my time & worked in a few ford dealerships around melb. I have owned dozens of falcons from ED XR6 though. I currently specialise in Prado & Hilux CRD 1KD-FTV engine & lift kits. I'm a fairly big contributor on those forums with important info & I'm hoping there's some experts here that are sharing on fords as I do on toyotas. One of my vehicles now is an 2008 FG XR6T UTE. I usually recommend trans oil change at 100k - end of warranty. Then every 50,000 for normal conditions. But we know these transmissions like the old 4 speeds without faults & service they usually last hundreds of thousands of Klm's. I was googling around about ZF auto service/oil change. No drain plug on metal sump! :-( After lots of reading & the usual varing opinions, I decided the best, simple including value to change/flush oil was to use the sucker to suck the oil from the bottom of the pan. $140 for a gasket? I'm not paying that on principal! Or the oil! IMO Pan not need to come off. So from the filler plug, my oil sucker fit in to bottom point of sump. I found nulon with a listing, 4lt retail $54 in supercheap, so I took 3 at 20% off :-) 12 lt for sbout $130 :-) its a multi listing spec oil, which means it will be about as good as it gets, including for Toyota WS. (world standard) of corse life gaurd 5 & 6. So drained, 3.5-4lt, filled, ran, drained, sucked, Etc, etc etc etc, only put in just under 3lt to circulate it or a minute, to flush. Yes it got left a while, 148k, but the oil in reality, was in pretty good condition. By the 4th drop it was looking good & I'd suspect 90% new oil :-) I'd like to upgrade to Penrite red/pink 6-8year coolant. This is the oat & I se it in the toyotas & it keeps them like new! Anyone know if its ok in these systems? Naturally a 100% flush so no mix ups, lol...... A few trans oil change facts: The oil is what protects the transmission from wear, & new oil works best. The final fill took 4lt. There was bugger all difference in oil level from 30 to 45 degress, so don't panic about it. As long as its warm to touch, not cold, not hot. You can get an infrared thermometer off eBay for $15. Now to decide what to do about the heat exchanger, odds are low, do I risk a $4-5000 rebuild? They want to run at a temp, so by-pass coolant & the usual davis Craig/pwr cooler will have it running cold, no good in Melbourne. You must not use smaller hoses & restrict the flow of these transmissions, on whatever mod you do. Next step is finding more about the pwr, if its a direct swap for factory unit. I'm about to change the coolant again. I'm doing coolant flush about every 12 months anyway, 7 years so far so good, so should be ok with good coolant changes? Lol........ There's a long intro & story...... :-) |

Greetings from NZ new to this forum but not ford's as I've had several over the years joined as my son has a 2003 ba xr6t that he's having a few problems with and I get a bit lost with these newer cars. At the moment there's a very original 59 Custom 300 with 81000 miles on it in my shed that we use for cruising around in . Some very helpful reading and ideas on this site...Ian

The second is an original jewel green xy gs that i was lucky enough to be able to buy from the orginal owner. Hi everyone. I have been cruising these forums for a while. I own a Au 2 Xr8, done 126000 klms. Still feels pretty good, but not too many mods. I have the G220 Ghia wheels on it at the moment. It's a daily driver also. I have done a few trips to Willowbank for the street drags, but the axle bush went, so I had to get an insert put in. The old saying on these pages....You Play You Pay! Ford don't make these bushes any more. Times range around the 15.28 to 15.43. Made it to the final one round (over 15 sec) and finished second to an Au XR6. It all comes down to the reaction time and the time you select. Collected a very nice trophy. Anyway cheers Larry

Hi everyone. I'm Blake. I am a mechanic by trade and a ford falcon enthusiast. I have owned 5 e series falcons and have extensive knowledge about the 6 cylinder makes. I am a Toyota diagnostic technician but in saying that the e series and prior models is where my passion lies. I have a well equipt home workshop and love spending my spare time tinkering with my cars. Looking forward to contributing back to this site as i have picked up a few bits from here too. Thanks alot.

Hello all,
I have been a mad ford fan since I can first remember. My family always had a falcon/fairlane in the garage. Since the day I acquired my drivers license (many years ago) i have driven falcons. I have owned falcons from an XD to an FG, mostly V8's lucky enough! I currently own an XE fairmont which I have owned for the past 7 years. The XE was a factory V8 auto however the original 302 has been replaced with a mild 351 and C4 auto. The XE sits on FR19 inch (real) simmons. I look forward to discussing more future modifications. |

I have an AU 1 Tonner, does anybody know if you can fit a BA front Strutt into an AU. I am lowering the ute and find BA gear easier to get. |

Hi all, just got myself a father son's XP Falcon sedan project, just building a flat black stocker and this old girl is missing a fair bit but will start the collection slowly.
Been around 4wd for a little wile now but got the bug for some classic on a small budget so if you think you have some bits lying around just let me know, it was that stripped down it's missing brake lines would rather clean up some old ones before I have to start making stuff. |
