Hello Ford lovers,

My name says it all, I was a member many years ago, but my HDD crashed with my log-in details. Nice to see that other brands are not hated here. My GF has an XR6 I got her, a BA in Citric Acid. Bright colour ? It was hit in a car-park the first day. I look forward to reading more good stuff.

Regards Chris

Have a look, or ask, in the 'Post Classic' section. Most of the E series people are there.

Cool Re: Welcome to New Members - Post here to say gday!

Hi thanks for the welcome,
I had a bit of a mental attack a couple of months ago, when I decided to transform my 6 cylinder AU ute into a V8 AU fairlane ute complete body and interior. Hence my mental attack I've got a AU1 fairlane and AU3 ute ,not all parts interchange. I'm getting there there are a lot more trying times ahead.
This forum has helped me a lot so far THANKS.
I will post some progress pic's once I work out how.

Changing an ignition barrel is usually a simple job, you have to insert the ignition key and select accessories and there is a pin you need to push in on the outer housing to realise the key and barrel. It has been some time since I have done one so I forget the exact position of the pin but to a trained eye it is easy to find. The biggest issue is you will have to link the new key and to do that you will need a scan tool.

No need to remove the wheel, do you have the ignition key in and turned to accessories. If it is not on accessories you will not be able to push in the pin.

Have you tried wriggling the barrel while in the accessory position and pushing the pin at the same time?

If you are doing it right it should come out, maybe you need to drill a hole in the side of the key barrel and screw in a decent slid hammer and force it out, otherwise go to the wreckers and buy a complete ignition assembly and unscrew the sheer bolts with pin punch and hammer and replace the lot.

Hey, I'm a 2012 diesel awd territory owner. Done 74000km and already had a $610 wheel bearing job done and now have a steering sensor fault causing problems. Any other owners experiencing problems? Trust it to be all out of warranty!

What sort of problem? is your MIL on (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) on? do you have a fault code? has this only just happened after you had the wheel bearing job done?

This area is primarily for new members introducing themselves to AFF.

Whilst it is always great to see members getting advice, any discussion re problems should really be done in the correct forum or via PM.

Megs and Allautos, no problem, it's just to save clogging this thread.

You'll probably find lots of information in the 'Post classic' forum http://www.fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=29 for your EB

And I'm sure that Allauto's knowledge will be appreciated in any number of forums in here.
