Actually I didn't forget it I just included it with the swaybar links, but you're right it probably should be noted separate.

And now have added it to the list.. :

Holy hell, that was major overload of information!! On the plus side, it's helped me settle on only buying an AU s2 or s3 that way I don't need to worry about converting an s1 to the later series then converting that to the b series. Great thread overall though. Cheers

Are the BA Caliper Mounts from the same range XR6-XR8 & XR6T or does any rear BA caliper mount Fit on a AU2 rear and is that the same for IRS rear ?

As far as I can tell, AU2 - BFII are totally compatible at both ends.

The only thing I am unsure of is whether the 3mm rear caliper offset difference is restricted to AU series 1 only, or if it continues through the whole AU range.

Bearing in mind the T3 uses the same rear Brembo caliper as the B series FPV's, it would make sense that only the AUI is affected.

I had to use a 3mm spacer to fit Brembo calipers to AU3. This is always the case.

I back up the above, they do not fit.

BF XR6T/XR8 calipers do fit with the appropriate larger discs though.

have either of you guys tried to fit them....ive read a few posts from guys with BAs that say they fit
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...99&postcount=6

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...59&postcount=2

so if they fit a ba they should fit a au3 id like to hear from someone that has actually fitted or tried to fit them...

I'd say this post confirms that they don't fit:

What those posts meant is they have the same as Terry brakes, but the calipers for Terry don't suit the Falcon and vice versa. They seemed the same until someone bought them and tried to bolt them up. The calipers are essentially the same thing, but due to different front ends, mount differently and you can't really change this.

FG has the Terry suspension at the front so they may be a direct fit, but if so, FG couldn't use BF XR6T/XR8 calipers. Get it?....lol...

I'd love to know for sure as well!

I've got a full set of Territory rotors & calipers front and rear sitting here, but haven't bothered trying to fit them yet, as I was gonna wait till my current pads are worn out.

I have tried as well, and they did not fit. Checked on both an AU2 and my BF

The Front and Rear discs and Rear calipers do fit on AU2 Live Axle, though the rear calipers do need small spacers.

Must get around to organising a set for my BF now

What size discs do the FG XR8 have. I thought it would be the sames as the BF XR8s in having the 322mm fronts and 328mm rears but when i measured the rear discs off a FG XR8 it only came upto 303mm. Is this right?
I do beleive that the FG Falcon front and rear brakes fit onto AU2/3 as well. Not sure if they are bigger then the BF brakes though.

The fronts of an FG may no longer fit, as the suspension has changed so they may now be in the same class as Territory, no go on the fronts, different mounts.

As for the rears, 303 is the size of BA/BF standard rears. Were they solid discs? BF XR8 got ventilated 328mm discs, ca you check again?

Thats strange. Front Brembo brakes off the FG FPVs can be fitted to the AU2-BF Falcons, I thought the FG Falcon PBR brakes would be the same if not easier to bolt on.

Its definetly a solid disk and i measured it again and from 1 side of the disk to the other it measures up to 303mm. The brakes are off an FG XR8. Looks like i will have to sell these and get hold of an FTG rear brake kit as i dont think a 303mm disk will work well with brembo brakes at the front.

If they are only 323mm that 1mm difference from FG to BF would be hardly worth mucking around to see if they do fit.

The T Series standard brakes also bolt onto the opposite side to standard AUs but they seem to fit and work fine with no mods.
That is the guy i bought the rear brakes and the brembos off lol. They bolt up the same as the AU2-BF and if the FG brembos fit then i dont see why the PBRs wouldnt. I dont know why Ford would down grade the rear brakes to a solid disk 303mm for the latest model XR8 :

I think this answers my question about the rear FG XR8 brakes:
http://www.ford.com.au/servlet/Conte...=FOA&c=DFYPage
They did downgrade the XR8 brakes to 303mm solid disk rears.
Anyone know if you can run a 328mm disk with the calipers or will you need a different caliper bracket?

Calipers are completely different for the 328mm rotor.

The 287/303mm Calipers are the same part number with a different mounting bracket

Also, have you actually test fitted those FG Brakes ? FG suspension setups are completely different (Good news for us AU guys if they actually do fit though!)

for any one interested i priced some bf xr8 calipers front only from a wreckers yesterday , they want $350 as they come off the car, i also priced for a brake place to rekit the wreckers calipers ....they want $85 each caliper, i would`nt put 2nd hand brake parts on without recoing them, the wreckers price is a little rich in my book, i also rang ford spare parts for the same they want $350 each brand spanking new.

Nice thread mine mik. Makes you wonder what the point is buying off a wrecker with those prices.

I havent as yet. Been busy with the office of late and only just back from O/S holidays. Just waiting on letting the credit card recover and we'll see how I go. But this conversion above is definitely what Im after for the front.
