I don’t know if this one’s already on the thread but here it is anyway.
This is one hell of a story that’s well worth the time to read! Talk about a working GT . . . Enjoy guys. M. http://oldred1970.blogspot.com/2011/11/blog-post.html?spref=fb |

Some great finds...while the car was advertised it was sitting in a shed for 10 years. Took it for a drive and couldnt help myself.
Last service was 1999..LOL..starts first go though.

Thats an awesome story, that outback GT. Good on him for sticking to the plan and leaving it completely original!

Its not the rate which was an issue, its the amount he sold the car for that wouldnt have covered the storage fees..hehe..but if you have no choice what can ya do.

That VJ Ranger looks the goods too! Now I notice it's "VK"...that'd an odd one...I always thought it just went "VH" then VJ"...didn't actually know there was a "VK". You learn something new every day... If I hadn't just bought the WB ute, that thing would be getting some serious bids from my way... |

My two latest barn finds, both in the same shed buried under a ton of rubbish. Been sitting quietly for near on 20 years waiting for me. Had them both out of the shed and running that day.

Close, it's actually an F3. Basically the same thing, just different load ratings.

Nice old trucks...brush the cobwebs out, get the brakes and suspension rubbers legal, and drive it like it is...
Love the "hand" indicator on the white one...haven't seen one of them for decades! I remember the stories about that "ourback GT"...let's hope it doesn't get restored and is left as found. It's got too much history to destroy, and I bet with the right display it would draw crowds like buggery at shows. I remember a British old car mag saying it was vitally important that at least some old car owners don't restore thier cars, but leave them 100% original, so that future generations can see what they were like from the factory, warts and all, even if they are tired now. Things like the original exhaust hangers (how many of them would have been replaced over the years?) and other bits and pieces. |
