At some stage he found himself following an early model Toyota Camry and continued to do so for about 5-10 minutes along 2 or 3 roads. He said he wasnt tailgating, he could have overtaken on dual lanes a number of times but was just cruising along talking to his missus about the game today.
As he got close to his destination he moved in to the right lane to turn right when he noticed this guy, early 20's going mental in the rear of the Camry.
He said it was like the guy had his sights set on his 5yo son and was trying to climb through the rear windscreen to get to him.
He said he wasnt looking at anyone else in the car, it was as if no one else was there, just him and his target, fixed on the 5yo and screaming profanities and threats to kill him.
When he realised he couldnt get through the window he opened the door and tried to jump out, another passenger, there were 3 older women in the car, had to grab him to stop.
The driver was screaming at my Nephew to get away.

The Nephew took a hard right and took the back entrance in to the shopping complex he was going to.
Just as he went to get out of the car at the shop he spotted the Camry coming through the carpark so he jumped back in his car and fled.
Luckily, up the road was an unmarked cop car so he pulled over to report the incident.
He told the detective that the guy just went off and wanted to kill his 5yo.
Unfortunately they didnt get a rego number in all the commotion as by the time they knew what was going on, they were beside them.

The detective spoke to the 5yo who told him he was scared, he was filthy apparently and wanted to get hold of them and put a call over for all patrols to look out for the camry and occupants.
He then escorted the Nephew and family back to the Chinese shop to get tea, he warned the nephew that if they come back and a confrontation was to take place he would call for back up and rely on the stun gun to subdue him until they can sedate him.
Fortunately they didnt show but the Nephew made a comment about the driver telling them to get away and then she turned back to find them and the detective said he would have threatened to kill them all if they didnt comply. He said when they got to wherever they were going he would bash one or more of them to satisfy his rage.
He said he see's it daily, it is considered worse than any disease known to man.

Scary **** man when a ******* psycho sets his sights on a 5yo kid.
I'm sorry but there is nothing in that story to say the person in the back seat was on Ice, or any other type of drug.

For all we know he may have been drunk and his ex just took his son away.

Your nephew's son may have looked a lot like the guy in the back seat's son.

Lol, yeah sure, no one actually drug tested him but after describing how a complete stranger tried to smash his way through a car rear window and then attempt to jump out of a car doing 60k, all the while screaming and pointing at a 5 yr old kid threatening to kill him, it was enough for a senior Detective to assume it as ice rage and act accordingly.

Imagine what other people reading your response must think, id be embarassed to even question the motive of someone trying desperately to attack 5 yr old child.

Since this thread has gone cold

I'll just remind yez, that whatever you do,

DO NOT UPSET A METH ADDICT. HUMOUR THEM.

CAUSE THEY WILL FIX ON YOU LIKE A FERRET.

METAL WILL START FLYING.

YOU WILL HAVE TO SUFFER TO GRATIFY THEM.

METH HEADS ARE ALL THE SAME BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF THEIR CHEAP DRUG: CRANKY MEAN MEGALOMANIACS

IN THE US IT IS CALLED "CRANK" FOR A VERY GOOD REASON.

From my experience at work its apparent that crims we could previously work with while they're in custody are very different when they use ice.
We are seeing frequent flyers who used to be reasonable and compliant now acting out with extreme agitation and violence. They tend to have shed most of their clothing before being arrested and have a tendency to play with their faeces. I have yet to deal with an inmate who has demonstrated irrational behaviour whilst being under the influence of ice returning to their usual self. It does seem to be a one way street with a lot of traffic.

It seems that the older model Camry has become the choice of vehicle for junkies and other scum.

Yeah and i wasn't the steroetypical living in the gutter, rob people for money type user either. Like many other i was embarrassed and secretive about my use. I held down a career and relationship and no one knew. But it was a dark secret i never wanted anyone to know. I also found out there were many like me who worked normal jobs, had normal lives and you wouldn't suspect them, but its more prevalent then you think.

Having no one to talk to or help made it a bit harder but i was able to stop. If anyone needs help or someone to talk to, i understand what you are going through and would be only to willing to help

Have a read of some normal cases mate, high up businessmen that used to do cocaine on the weekends getting addicted to this stuff and continuing to run the business as normal. It seems it is a slow build up to ultimate recklessness that comes eventually. My cousin lasted 3 years being normal before she lost the plot. She was a high income business owner, everything as normal for the first 3 years, no one knew. Then at the end of the 3 years the spiral started, and it all went downhill from there.

There is a lot of everyday people you would never expect using this stuff, thats exactly why it's such a big issue for current society.

Everyday people that are well off upper middle class getting conned into try it instead of cocaine, and the spiral starts.

It depends. Maybe when you first start using it you can be a bit hyperactive and people might notice, but after a while i needed it just to be normal. I would host 4 hour meetings at work and while on the break i would need to smoke to stay with it. People noticed more when i wasn't on it then when i was if that makes sense

The media portrays it as you will go psycho and stab people but for 95% of users this isn't true. I am not a violent and never had any violent tendencies while on it. To most people who use, it just makes you feel incredibly good and willing to tackle the world. You feel excited to do anything, even cleaning, and the energy you have is the thing which hooks people. Imagine feeling like you are 18 all the time? i had that kinda energy and drive while on it.I never felt tired.

I would get up on the weekend at 6, have a smoke and then do the lawns, maintain the house, work on my car, and do other duties all while enjoying the hell out of it. The only problem is that doesn't last forever

That is because of what the media portrays it to do, shock tactics to make people aware that it exists. It is a horrible drug and if they market the dangers like they have it makes everyday normal jo blow much more aware of it.

If they showed on the news a bloke going to work and functioning normally but having a smoke in the toilets it wouldn't grab your attention would it?

I would never lie about being addicted to a horrible drug mate..

It will get you eventually.. It gets everyone eventually which is why its a dangerous drug.

It starts off small. Me and a friend used to dabble in minor drugs when younger. Then when he was completing his degree at uni, he needed to stay up one night so he tried it. I had a few beers and had smoke from the pipe too. Within 5 mins i felt an incredible rush and instantly felt good. and confident! The confidence you have is incredible.

Then it turned into we went and bought a pipe and started smoking on weekends only. That lasted for about 2-3 months just using on the weekend. Then one monday morning i woke up exhausted and tired and not feeling like going to work. I had a little bit left so at 5 in the morning i have a smoke and went to work. I felt so good at work all day and it was the best feeling not being tired.. This eventually led to me smoking everyday, mon to fri.

It eventually became the norm. The thing that gets you though is not being on it. I ran out of money one week so i had no money. It was the worst week of my life because i was coming down and felt like ****. Thats what this drug does to you, it makes you need it to feel normal again.

I am lucky though because after using for 3 years, i was able to stop. It was incredibly hard but something i needed to do, to keep my job and partner. I couldn't afford to keep doing it either..My partner never knew believe it or not..

Life is good now

To Top_Ghia and blakef6, You would be surprised. I was an Operations Consultant for a large multinational company, I worked in an office. This drug doesn't discriminate. Lower, middle and upper class people all do it. And its much more prevalent than you think. Think about people you work with, there are a few who would be doing it but you wouldn't know. This would go for family members to.
To people who haven't done it, you might not notice people who are on it, but I can notice the particular behaviours of people who use it because of my experience.

There would also be forums members who use in secret and are problem reading this, looking for a way to stop. That's why I said I am willing to help anyone if needed

That said at 43 I'm not really the core demographic

These sentiments, which I share, not only put us in a minority, but put us at risk when we openly voice an aversion to a drugged-out society. The junkies and all other substance abusers take shots at us.

For matters to get so out of hand it cannot be explained or brushed off as inept law enforcement or incompetent public administration. A drugged society has been on the cards since the Height Ashbury concept in San Francisco.

There will always be drugs in society. People will always look for a way to self medicate. Its in our instincts. People self medicate now through legal drugs like tobacco, alcohol and prescription meds so why not illegal ones too

How so? I feel no instinct to smoke crack or ice or whatever...

I do enjoy a beer or two though but that is hardly to be getting of my face...

I mean its in our instincts to self medicate if something is wrong. People take drugs (legal/illegal) for a variety of reasons, not to just get off their face for fun. A lot do it to forgot traumatic experiences in their life (child abuse etc) and a variety of other mental health issues reasons. I used to do drugs because it was the only way I could stop thinking about the horror I was subjected to as a child. It numbed a pain and made me feel normal and good again

100% agree. So many people I know, at work and in social life, are using it. I live in an affluent suburb and one of my friends is an accountant and she smokes before work and on her break. No one would ever guess

If so many people are doing ice, and it will eventually make the user do stupid things, according to info in this thread, is it reasonable to predict that the wave of drug induced pandemonium will impact society in an ever increasingly negative way?

Many say the laws are not working now but I shudder to think of the horror that would befall society without them...
