I think most people are calling it 'FZ' with Z being the last last letter in the alphabet to go with the 'LAST FALCON' then others (myself including) assume it may follow suit after the FG, next letter in series would be 'FH'...like ford did with the ba/bf etc.

I really like what Nikked has done with the 'Wishful thinking' interior. It could be a small possibility we would get something like that. However if it was made I'd take that interior over the VF anyday. Looks great, and possible to make.

Is it me or is it that what was supposed to be just some front and rear sheetmetal changes, new transmission (from Falcon EcoBoost) and a bit more tech that it has taken Ford quite a while to do? Considering they've done quite a large amount of testing (still today) and it's been about 2 and a half years since they started working on the 2014 Falcon.
Could we maybe be expecting a bit more? |

I would love to see the models go down a nostalgic path to farewell the falcon. If there is one tool Ford Australia has at its disposal, it's a rich heritage and following yet they seem reluctant to use it to sell cars (just imagine what they could have charged for the GT-F had they called it a GT-HO). It could look something like this:
Falcon XT = Falcon 500 G6 = Futura G6E = Fairmont G6ET = Fairmont GXL or ESP XR6 = XR6 XR6T = XR6T XR8 = XR8 Sprint

Yep and late 90's rear ends were the best of modern local cars!

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong. But apparently the EA Falcon's design (which was based a little bit from the Ford Scorpio's front) was one of the best looking cars in the world for it's size. I think the biggest letdown for the EA was how they rushed to get it out 6 months before the VN. Otherwise the EA could of outsold the XF. For memory as well, the EA was the biggest and most complex project ever taken by manufacturer in Australia, around about $700million was spent on it and I think the record was ruined by the $1 billion dollar baby VE Commodore. |

Yep great idea, maybe SXR6. I definitely wouldn't name it after the super rare EB SS!

Imagine what a record spend would do with this new model, the mind does wonder!

I think Ford Australia does a much better job than Holden when designing and engineering Holden on a certain budget. Holden spent like $500 million on the interior for the VF and started to run out of money for the exterior. That's why the look difference between the VE and VF isn't that much. |

I don't agree with your reference to VF though, I think Holden got a heap of value for money on that update (they were very fortunate to have a large box of GM parts to use cheaply). I also don't agree that the outside of the VF sedan looks like the VE (they do offer some similarities though of course). VF is as similar to VE as BA was to AU.

I really like the VF, but using the VE tail lights on the wagon was pretty **** poor IMHO. I know why they did it ($$) but it just ruins the look to me.

You mean like Ford did with the wagon and ute from AU -> BF(3)?

Slightly off topic (isn't that the status quo with this thread???) has any snapped any revealing shots or photoshopped the Terri update?

No, he means like it has always been. The rear ends of both Holden and Ford wagons only changed when there was a new generation sedan. E.g. XA - XC were the same, XD-XF, EA-EL etc. Why should the VF be any different?

Sadly you're right and to think today that it would be over 20% of a daily Falcon production to make all those FG in the shot by DASH GT.
