Well I did it straight up so I don't know how fast/slow the loading times were before. It still says 'installing' sometimes before a new race or special event.

To be honest, the loading times are something i'm getting over. They are slower than before but then the cars and tracks do look better than previous games.

Go and uninstall it and try :P lol, it is quite long, but it gives me time to focus on the task ahead ;)

I played it, have to say it reminded me of GT1 with better graphics, car still handles awfully, Forza motorsport is far far better.

Well, I've just bought a Monaro CV8 on top of a Dodge RAM LARAMIE 1500 and Ford SVT F150 Lightning.

Patience pays off.

Still p***ed off there's no FPV's though. Also noticed the Ford Model T Tourer is missing from the list.

That Lightning thing goes like stink when you do it up

As for No FPV's, as much as i wish i could be chewing up a track in a 335kw GT, they are not international cars. Every other car in the list, is International. That would be, my guess, to why they have none in Gran Turismo. Which i think is fair enough... Mind you, im pretty damn happy chewing up a track with my Dodge Viper, or my Ferrari 430 but thats my kind of jam ;)

Forza is Xbox isnt it?

I have found that Xbox racing games are laggy in the controller... ya push left........oh wait, you want me to go left, got ya!

but thats just my opinion :P

As i have stated b4, I love the game, I'm a diehard racing fan, I love my Formula 1, and seeing 2x Formula 1 cars in it, Excites the buggery out of me! And racing on the international tracks, smashing out laps on Monaco ... Top Gear Test Track, Nubergring*spelling* in ANY car i like... I love it I dont care if its lacking here, Lacking there, I can get home from work, jump in my Bugatti , and destroy it going too fast around a corner... or jumping in my very over the top done up Dodge Viper, and being 5 seconds infront of every other supercar on track... then losing the PS3 because my fiance wants to brutally stab people with hidden blades in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood....

Man i love this game....

Gran Turismo 5 is a 10/10 simulator wrapped up in a 5/10 game – driving is as exhilarating as anything that’s gone before, and slavish obsession with the minutiae of many of its cars ensure it's an encyclopaedia of automotive delights. Its brilliance on the track, however is matched by its sloppiness off of it, and there’s a lack of polish that would at one time have seemed sacrilegious to the series. Ultimately its driving wins out to ensure that it’s still a great game, but it leaves that nagging doubt; this could have been a masterpiece were it not for the fact that Polyphony was so absorbed with the detail that it took its eye off the ball.

Enjoy the game.. i know i am.

You mean you dont have the skill to keep the car on the track? The handling and the graphics are the only things that save this game from the dodgey load times and poor menu's.

The Handling is SO lifelike the weight transfer is amazing, I dropped one tyre into the dirt exiting a fast corner at 250kph, I saved it but only just.

Amazing game.

Im just comparing it to what i have played, and to my real life driving experiences, and to be honest GT5 felt nothing like real life, i can hop on the brakes incredibly late and still make the corner, and go flat through some corners i shouldnt to name a few, in Forza the cars reward braking at the right time, hitting the apex and not being to heavy(wheelspin) or light on the throttle to get a good exit. I also like how the cars characteristics are different, i feel more comfortable in jumping on the gas early in a porsche gt2 than a Ferrari enzo for example.

GT5 does have the RS Focus though, and some of the latest cars which isnt to bad, and the good old High speed ring is still there. Will enjoy it but it feels more Arcade than race sim.

There is something seriously wrong with the way they've modelled the braking and the bias adjustments on certain cars. other than that, i'm really enjoying the game. First G.T experience for me, so all the other gripes that many are talking about don't really worry me at all... there are some quite annoying aspects to the game no doubt, but over all i'm happy - a decent wheel and pedals is a must though!

Now have a Monaro and SS Commodore, and the Monaro and F-150 Lightning came up again in the used cars.

Just check the used cars after every couple of events you do.

My B-spec driver is up to Level 12 but still retarded.

My opinion isn't worth more than anyone else's. My point was that I've been around long enough to be able to apply a little context when evaluating the game and comparing it to others. It is awesome in places, I've commented positively about it too.

Lots of people are happy with the game, do you have a problem with that too?

I honestly didn't cut and paste that comment but after reading it again I do remember seeing it somewhere (it might have been linked on here before). Maybe I liked it so much that my subconscious picked it up and ran I do agree with it though, it sums up how I feel about the game pretty well.

I'm glad you're enjoying it, I am too (in bits )

Do you race with all driving aids off?

I've been looking into it and it seems it's broader issue for many.

There's also talk from the lead Poly Digital guy that the G25 is not 100% compatible with GT5..? so it could even be the brake application signal etc.. don't know, but I do know that a car shouldn't snap out at the rear and spin when you're doing 200k's + in a straight line... there are ways around it, it just means you can't get the most out of your braking ability.

You receive a random bonus car from the year you were born - provided you log in that day (and provided you're over 18)

Or you can create a new user, create a bogus PS Network account with today's date as your birthday, friend your main account, load GT5, unlock gift car, friend it to your main account, quit game, delete save game of your bogus account, load GT5... etc.
