Not that I could tell from looking at this, but I' think Subaru did make a limited edition Forester XT tuned by STi. Essentially a WRX STi drivetrain, underneath a Forester chassis.

I know there were definitely other cars tuned by STi other than the WRX

The reason is the ease of just interchanging the guts of them with a WRX.

They don't look like personalised plate, it has been a while since I lived in Sydney but they could just be a coincidence.. Why would you get 121 and WRX on the same plate

Maybe its a Mazda with a Forrester body with WRX running gear.

Ahh.... its a random state issue plate, NOT custom...

The dual cannons is the fail in my eyes.

And yeh the camera is a fail piece of crap camera phone, i spotted it, snapped a quick pic, i dont drive around with my good camera.

Its an XT. Turbo and the lot, apart from the zorst, the car is very much a win for me...

How about this for a fail?

I don't think it's photoshopped. I don't see any of the signs of photoshopping I recgonise. To me, it just looks like a very poorly done project. Probably isn't even worthy of that word, project.

The Mother V8 Supercar's new livery looks hot....

But using an F6 to promote a V8 supercar is a bit of a fail!!!!
