It's currently on the way up and there is talk of a cut in production from the OPEC countries, which will push it up further, we'll find out on Wed US time.

Iran and Iraq are refusing to go with the rest of OPEC on a cut, and it has already sent the price down 4%:

Don't know what the excuse is today, but 90% of all the Shell/Coles Express servos around the NSW Central Coast & Newcastle/Hunter areas, have Premium 98 at 168.9c/L.
That's at least 20c/L higher than anyone else around & in some cases up to 34c/L dearer than other servo's near by. It also seems to be the highest price around the country, going on what I can find on fuel pricing web sites, there are a few in Sydney at 166.9c/L though. Glad I'm not desperate for fuel, it'd have to be some special stuff over what's available up the road, & you'd kick yourself if you filled up & then drove 500m up the road to find you could've saved 30c/L. |

Sadly, once one does it it is not long before the nearby ones do it too. So the others may follow suit soon. I heard the weakening AUD combined with fresh cuts to output in OPEC producers are to blame this time.

Just paid $1.68.9 from Shell in Bowral, Caltex is always cheaper but they had cars waiting and I'm far too impatient, I'd rather just pay extra.

The prices you pay for U98 make my E85 at 137.9cpl more cost effective to run than U98, even given the higher rate of consumption, and the power increase of E85 leaves the unleaded fuels for dead......

Good stuff Romulus, I researched E85 a bit after a previous thread with you. Standard I6 doesn't need any physical changes, just a chip. Planned for ours after Feb service time. Roll on the E85.

I noticed one BP servo in the Adelaide CBD yesterday had 91ULP at 91.7c per litre.
Are prices similar in other states?

Wow that's cheap in Aus! I'm in China atm and it is still the equivalent of about $1.60 Aussie a litre for 90 octane!
You guys have got it good atm.

Have been hovering about the $1.05.9 for E10 for a while out western Sydney with the odd spike to $1.25.9 ... but drops back down to the cheaper price after a day or 2.

There's a chain of new servos opening up in adl at the moment, they are selling below cost as an opening promotion, that has pulled the price down in surrounding areas. Not sure how long it will last.

Was in Port Macquarie recently........cheapest in town and not the hwy was $125.9. Am now further up the coast in Casino in northern NSW and 91 is at $115.7 in some places......around 7 to 8 cents cheaper than Lismore which is 30 odd k's down the road closer to Bris Vegas......go figure!!! Apparently Casino has been around this price for awhile.

Yep when I was living in struggletown the BP in Yass Rd was always 10 cents dearer at least than Costco......which was a 15 minute drive away......as were the burbs of Canberra.....except for one servo in Fyshwick (sorry can't remember the name) which pretty much matched Costco prices most of the time.

G'day ..I can only wish for lower petrol prices . On Monday Caltex 95 locally was $1.44 when I topped off the XR6 on my way to a doctor appointment. I think 91 was $1.38 or thereabouts. Some Hobart and Launceston prices are a bit better though.
You get used to it after a while in rural Tasmania. It has been in the mid to high 1.40's often Here's a bit of a guide for around Hobart which is 240 kms from me. https://petrolspy.com.au/map/latlng/...18/147.3221138 . Cheers Rod.. |
