My usual source from the bakery in Woodcroft has ceased to exist. Went there today and closed for good by the looks.
Yep, better bake have closed for good unfortunately. They had a tough year last year with multiple deaths in the family within a short space of time. They opened again for a few months or so but for whatever reason have called it quits. Real shame.

New one just opened in Rutherglen a couple of weeks ago I have been meaning to try.
I've heard they have a large collection of vintage motorcycles on display.

Meanwhile had a lovely pie at Henri's Wodonga yesterday, no proof picture of said pie.

I decided to make a batch of beef and onion pies after Christmas because I was sick of turkey, ham and other Christmas food.

As usual, they were rather large due to the dessert bowls used as pie dishes

Went to Pasadena Foodland in Adelaide. They have a great bakery selection, huge fresh food selection and a licensed restaurant inside the supermarket.

Found a bakery near to where I live today.

Hallett Cove Bakery.

Small but good quality selection of hot and cold goodies.
Very nice and friendly people.
I had a Cornish pasty and chunky steak pie which were both reasonably good overall.
Plenty of flavour, huge chunks in the pie and freshly made today.
The pasty veggies were slightly undercooked.
Prices were slightly higher than expected.
Score 8/10.

Barmera bakery - the Bonney cafe - has the tastiest pasties i have had in a good while.
Just the right amount of peppery spice without it being a pepper pasty

No yet, but it's on my hit list. It's literally 5 minutes drive from my home.

It opens at some really bazar hours from what I've been told?

It opens during week days when I went there. But worth it.

Ganmain Bakery vanilla slice, purchased and eaten on day of posting, $3.50:

Very sweet, sticky, custard not too “floury”. Base a little characterless and crumbly. Chocolate drizzle surprisingly good quality.

Hard to review more fully as it’s the first thing I’ve eaten for 12 hours.

Thanks Rob. It is a good excuse although I want to make sure I enjoy the food rather than just scoff it down.

Here in South australia where I live, I recently had a few days at Edithburgh, a lovely old historic town on the coast of Yorke Peninsula.

One day we drove inland and North up the peninsula to a town called Minlaton. We stopped and had lunch at the local Minlaton Bakery, which had people lined up out the door when we were there. I had a delicious Pasty that was probably the best one I can remember in a long time. The chocolate donut I had after that wasn't far behind either.
