I know you are only asking as part of another fishing exercise because I've already posted those stats regularly but on the 0.0001% chance that you aren't trolling, 35.4% of all cases in Australia have been your physical (if not mental) age group and there have been no deaths in the under 30 group.

Is that so? To disagree with me is fine as long as you can present a reasoned argument but after your recent diatribe about how bad the other States were, I'd suggest you just do the smart thing and be quiet while you are ahead.

brisbane is back in gathering restrictions effective immediately, no more than 10 people inside or outside.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-...atest/12584472

Quote:
Gatherings in Greater Brisbane limited effective immediately

From Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk:

"The first message we will be giving people is that effective immediately, gatherings in your home will be reduced to 10 people."

"Gatherings outside, for example, in parks will be limited to 10 people."

"That includes people living in the areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Seenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Moreton Bay and Redlands."

Outside of Greater Brisbane gatherings inside homes and outdoors are limited to 30 people.

I binaway so I see I have missed a lot of the fun.

I dunno how we have mixed vaccinations with covid in this thread when we haven't even got one yet, but did you know that covid affects the heart?

It seems the media is focussing too much on the initial damage to the lungs and failing to advise people of long term damage to the heart.

https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-pers...id-19-patients

But wait, there's more.

In Australia your chance of having a heart attack after the normal 'flu increases six fold. So anything that saves you from getting the normal 'flu or the Chinese plague should be beneficial in the long term.

https://www.yourlifechoices.com.au/h...t-on-the-heart

We are getting so much information about covid on every media channel that I fear people will switch off and become blase due to information overload.

I am 70 and I have been getting the 'flu injection for a few years now.

People should be free to make up their own minds about vaccinations, hopefully if they refuse to get vaccinated they are making an informed decision.

171 new cases for Australia and 9 deaths sees the CMR rise to 1.934% although active cases dropped to 5,475. NSW recorded 1 case with the balance in Victoria.

11 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.321% and active cases rise to 105.

The UK had 1,033 new cases and (supposedly) 2 deaths yesterday for a CMR of 12.806% although we know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines.

Just over 45k new cases in the USA yesterday and 1,722 deaths sees CMR rise to 3.099% and active cases drop to 43.0% with the raw numbers rising again. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences.

Other notable points:
Australia drops below India for CMR
Global cases pass 23M with the last 1M only taking 3 days again;
Global deaths pass 800k with the last 50k taking 9 days;
The USA completes 74M, India 33M and Bahrain 1M tests;
Asia passes 6M cases;

South Korea (324), Lebanon (628), Paraguay (684), Poland (903) and Ethiopia (1,829)recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

The graphs below chart the growth in case and mortality numbers globally.

Hey leesa,

Looks like under 30s have died a grand total of ZERO times from COVID19 in Australia while having a 35% infection rate.

Sure there's always the risk, but there's also the risk of getting hit by a car walking across the road, its just minuscule.

Less chicken little more risk management principles.

EDIT: There's been ONE - so the exception, not the rule, 0.2% of all deaths, but 35% of all the cases.

I don't think you're understanding what I am saying. People are dying after they have recovered, sometimes a lot later. The virus is causing damage to organs so while they "recover" from the virus, they are dying down the track from that organ damage.

We don't know what's going to happen, we don't know a lot about the long term effects of this virus. Perhaps everyone who got infected ends up with heart failure and dies next year, there are indications to show that's perhaps not such an outrageous claim.

All I am saying is that it is not responsible to reassure young people that they are relatively "safe" from this virus and to go out and live their lives without a care because you could be sending them to an early death.

Why would you want to go there??

This thread has been very informative and a big part of why is due to Russells posts. He has put in a lot of time and every day there is an update for me to read for which I am grateful.

Don't be so dismissive and rude. Pull your head in.

maybe the conspiracy theorists are onto it, was it Agenda 21 . This may be part of the 'big peoples plan' to reduce population growth, get us all on a vaccine and then feed us whatever they want

P.S, I got the flu jab last year

What under 30 year old dies from COVID-19?

Well your opinion that people are soft because some aren't coping mentally with Covid lockdown is ridiculous and I suspect very reasoned by people not willing to compare with World War 2.

Interesting to note there's never been a RNA vaccine released to market. Why's that? It can't be done.
