today being Friday, and having the XR8 badge shown to us, almost backs up the rumour that NEXT Friday we're getting an XR8 reveal.

wooohooooo

i'm guessing they're timing it so that GTF owners don't get angry and cancel their orders

I think it's the top actually.

The cooler thing on the radiator looks the same as the one one mine which is top grille.

Would go with the GT/F6 badging as well.

Loving the Miami! Mustang GT will get 324kW with 542Nm or torque from the N/A 5.0 Coyote, it does have two less doors though...

Will the current yanko mustang/cobra/shelby motor slot straight into the FG Falcon? Hope they keep this design for another decade so that the FG will have a continuous supply of heart transplants for a few years yet.

Of course... buy a left headlight and see if it'll fit the right side

Did you see the last line?
If the Mustang’s power outputs come as a disappointment, don’t despair. Ford is believed to be working on a high-performance Mustang to replace the ougoing FPV Falcon GT on Australian roads – rated at 400kW.

Okay let me make this clear haha, if you stand infront of the car and look at it, the XR8 or XR6 (whichever it may be) badge will be on the bottom right corner of the upper grille

Hey guys keen on getting the new XR6 Turbo or XR8.

Anyone got an official number on how many transmissions are to be stockpiled for the XR6 Turbo and XR8 auto models?

Will there be unlimited manuals though?

And will the XR6 Turbo stick with 270kw? or get a boost?

F6 spec engine have ended production, according to the guru's that work there, unlikely that the XR6 will get that spec...unless there is a little gain in the tune, it will probably stay at 270kw.

As for gearboxes, if auto's have been stock piled, best guess is that Manuals are as well, Ford will be wanting to not be overstocked on items come the end of 2016...

I have no information but will guess the XR6T will be around 280 - 290kw. Just expecting there will be minor gains from re tuning ect.

Sorry I missed the post that started this trans stockpile belief, is that official?

If so do they know that if the sell them all then production stops (perhaps thats all they care about?)? Seems odd.

I did, I also saw the SVT version getting round the Nurburgring and it sounded pretty fierce.. Gonna be a tough decision between an XR8 or hotted up Stang!

Heart says XR but there's some driving tech in the Tang.
I'm pretty sure the XR8 is going to be epic but I'm yet to drive a good septic tank automobile.
I guess the Jury will be out until I can get my bum in the stang. I couldn't afford the svt stang but I wouldn't mind parking an xr8 in the drive in the near future.
Stang may just be a little too mid-life-crisis for me.

Apart from maybe the front, i don't really like the look of the new mustangs...and the interior still looks kinda like its from the 80's or 90's with a slight modern twist. just my opinion

Don't they need to hold X amount of parts for warranty?

Nope. When I was still on the tools and working at a Hol#@n dealership we had an SS with a blown transmission sit in the workshop for about 6 months while a new box was imported. The same could be said for the auto trans for the Ranger, Ford didn't have enough to keep up with build demands least of all fill a warehouse with spares.

AND one less Supercharger - yes the N/A 324 kw 5.0 Coyote is officially rated higher than the S/C 315 kw 5.0 Miami GS.

May I throw a theory in here gents, May be the XR8 will be formally released, but not on sale, on Friday so that FPR/DJR can ready the new body work for a release at Bathurst/ Sandown. Would make great marketing sense and also allow the teams time to have a few aero upgrades they have been wanting for a while
