Might add my ZL up here. I bought it around 6 months ago. Its is a garage find really not a barn. The owner lived overseas had the car since new but rarely was here to drive it. So it had only covered 100000ks since new. But hadnt been out in a few years when i found it. fully optioned as well im not sure why he didnt just get an LTD. He had never let the carpet see the light of day. He also reckons it never got rained on. The only thing it needed for the road worthy where ball joints and new hoses becaue they where all original. He only sold because of a messy divorce.
And he only wanted $600. the guy who came 15mins after me was rather ****ed on the phone. Uploaded with ImageShack.us since this pic i have got an LTD grille and 12 slotters Fat on the rears. Thankfully not a hint of rust. I dont want to mod her to much its just to clean. |

I just checked out the thread on a previous post about old barn finds on the facebook page Chasing Old Cars... incredible pictures. They are definitely still out there if you go looking for them!
Just found the link www.facebook.com/ChasingOldCars |

I have some pics on my facebook page of a XR GT someone had found in a barn, been in there for many years and it looked mint. 20 odd years of dust but crikey the car looked clean. Good page to look through. Cheers, Brendon

That's still a 1000% profit. Where else can you get that kind of return? Now all you need to do is find 30 more per year and you won't need to go to work anymore....lol

Maybe you misunderstood (has nothing to do with my sister if I had one, or any other member of my family). If you're keeping it, then fair enough but if you were to sell it as is, then I'm pretty sure you would try to get as close to it's market value, correct?
In any case, it's a very good buy and I'm sure just about everyone on this site would have bought it for $300 too had they had the chance. |

Great find with the XR wagon. Mine was in about the exact same condition but in white when I got mine.

opposite Kuitpo forest in sa there is an open farm shed facing the road that has heaps of escorts sitting in it...big sign on the shed saying not for sale
on the way to work there is an xm or xp 2 door (cant see it that clearly) sittin under a carport...yet the carport has no roof and no sides wont sell it, but has heaps of sheds around the property yet it sits in the weather rumor has it the sheds are full ill try and see if i can get a photo of it, the road doesnt have too many places to stop so it might be difficult i have a hdt ADP sitting in the shed under cover, hasnt moved for 5 years all numbers matching but sadly a 253 auto been verified and im about to organize to get the paperwork (320$!) then its going up for sale interior is out and stored in the spare room body is pretty good but the donk has done 320 thou. theres heaps of stuff on old farms in sa theres a bloke in nuriootpa out the back off the highway that has a wreckers and there is acres of cars, just sitting there all out in the open. i havent been there for years and he is actually very suss of who he lets in might take a scoot out there this week to see if i can find the joint again and get some photos a friends family has a shed with about 6 or so caddies in it from the 50s and 60s all in great nick and theres about a dozen harleys from the 20s and 30s in the same shed with mountains of parts he says his old man can remember seeing old harleys piled up in the street for scrap metal back in the war days
