Wait, ..... it's the 4-door Mustang!! LOL!
In a more serious vein, to me it looks like the Lincoln.

I can't see any FG resemblance. The lenses to me look blocky, particularly the reverse/blinker lenses which only remind me of the current Taurus rear end. But this has too much of a swept roofline for that IMO.

I can kinda see what you mean but I do t think its FG by any means. There's the bit underneath where its a bit drooped down but several Fords have that now, like Territory and Explorer. The top edge though IMO is too straight, and because of that there's no sharp point in the lower left hand corner.
But still some people reckon it's a hatch, the door profiles are completely wrong and it's LHD, so I don't think it's got anything to do with FG/Falcon. |

Its not a Mondeo or Lincoln MKZ, wrong shape, wrong lines...
My guess is that its a 2014 Ford escort, developed right here in Australia for the Chinese market, based off a Focus...looks about the right proportions...

Why would ford keep the doors for the FU? I know it's LHD as stated previously, so why is Vic doing R&D on a o/s car that will be built somewhere else or sold on the other side of the world..

The biggest clue would be the wheels. Unfortunately in the second pic, the wheels are obstructed.
Does anyone recognise the wheels? It reminded me of the wheels I've seen on a Honda, but a Google search proved me wrong. |

I was thinking it could be a test mule of a Fusion/Mondeo with some minor updates.

New doors cost $50m+ to develop each, so are one of the least often updated items.

It's not Mondeo.
Too much difference. Door handles, fuel hatch placement, B pillar thickness. I bet it's an Asian derivative of the CD platform. Chinese CD4 ? Or Escort ? |

It seems to have more cues coinciding with the Lincoln from the previous page. For example, the door handles, the swage line near the front wheel arches. And in the photo posted by TC200six there is a hidden outline of a small window behind the door frame trim. Anyway, it's good to read everyone's take on it. It would be good to eventually find out what it is!

Australia is involved in developing CD platforms in China, why camo a Mondeo or Fusion ?
It's something for that Asian market if the driver was sitting in the Left front seat |

I would put my money on the Escort (that's if they will call it that, might only be for the concept). It is designed and engineered here, due next year and there would be evaluation mules out and about. Given Australia's direct involvement in the project, it would come as no surprise that we would see a mule here...

I was just trying to think of which concept I'd seen that looks a bit like that.
It's the Escort and the China version of the Fiesta Sedan. http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-conte...pt-china-2.jpg http://www.carnewschina.com/wp-conte...pt-china-3.jpg http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/12/52/93/28/fiesta13.jpg |

I think we can safely say that the mystery car is not a Ford at all, but the new Hyundai Genesis:
It was also spotted at the Nordschleiffe. http://instagram.com/p/gdJAEXrleR/#
