Again ive never had an issue with rbts but for some reason they always wave through my grandpa car.
I drove a 3-year-old AU III Fairmont when I was on my P-plates. Never once got pulled over in that car. I think the grandpa-spec Barossa Red paint had a lot to do with that.

I got my Ps in 2004 but just before they put in vehicle restrictions so i was exempt.

P plates on a modified v8 kingswood ute... Id ad atleast 10 minutes to every trip as I'd get pulled over all the time for a licence check.

I was a bit the opposite. Back in 2003 I had a blueprint Xr8. Every Friday night wed go out for dinner with the fam, usually at one of the local pubs. One Friday night I was heading home after a dinner out. Noting that I don't drink alcohol. To get home, I used to take a few back roads in order to detour around the traffic lights. I got a bit suspicious when a commodore started following me. Sure enough, a few streets away, they lit me up.

I think they were a bit disappointed I didn't try and race them. And when they looked in the car to find my less than 12-month old daughter in her car seat in the back and the Mrs in the passenger seat. And when they breath tested me to find a zero reading returned.

I know some might find this corny, sad, soft or whatever, but I'm just watching the finale of the amazing race Australia celebrity and three teams were competing for $100k towards their nominated charity. The three teams are Darren mcmullen and his son, Tristan, ex yellow wiggle Emma Watkins and her sister hayley, and alli Simpson and her mum angie.

Darren and Tristan arrived at the carpet first, but refused to step on the carpet until the other two teams arrived. They then all stepped on to the carpet at the same time, effectively sharing the prize between all of their charities.

A very generous gesture from Darren and Tristan.

Context and tone, even unintentional as Bert's were in that case, can make such a difference!

I ran into a mate of mine today. She was saying she needed to get her steps in but was lacking motorvation. So i told her to go put on her walking shoes and let me know. I took her to lake Parramatta. She didn't know that place existed. Anyhows, we did a 3km 'bushwalk'. Its not really a bushwalk in that sense of the term, but a path surrounded by bush. Seen native birds and a water dragon. Most notable was a bright blue male supurb fairy wren trying to get under the feathers of 2 booring brown females.
Eh, i had nothing important to do today so it was nice to take a mate who isnt the outdoors type for a walk in the outdoors.

Hidden little gem, Lake Parra.

I always thought of it, in Oatlands tbh. Sounded better than north Parramatta.

Yes, the One Notion type crowd had a concerted go at the tuck shop there a few years ago on all the review sites - operators were Muslim and didn’t sell food with pig products (eg E&B rolls).

Good place for a weekday stroll. Cumberland State Forest can be another, noting risk of running into lactation squadrons (mother’s groups) around the nursery/café.

Been awhile since I was there then, no cafe, no paddle boats, no children's play area's, just beautiful quiet bushland. Must check it out next week.

Just spent a couple of hours taking a group of local council staff on a drive/walk through tour of the old Holden plant at Elizabeth, was actually quite a moving experience to stand in the now decomissioned press plant and what is left of final assembly where the overhead assembly line conveyor system is still in place.
So much history in there that is slowly disappearing.
Lots of wall art from a bygone era that reminds you of what it turned out over half a century.

I saw it on Landline I think. Guy using the big old spray booths or something and growing heaps of fungi for restaurants.
Might be another ex Holden factory.

Found it, Adelaide.

Fair enough, we drove past the paint shop and he pointed it out but didnt say what it was being used for.
Mushrooms being a sensitive topic at the moment may explain that omission.
