'eminent service to the people and Parliament of Victoria, to public health, to policy and regulatory reform, and to infrastructure development' But, given that's available in most of the news reports on the subject, I suspect you disagree with that. And that's ok. You're entitled to your opinion. I just wanted to air mine, too, as it differs (i suspect) to the majority on here. But like most of these subjects, I doubt it's all black or white (or one-sided, if you prefer).

Yesterday actually, what I call Freaky Friday owing to the stream of nutjobs that surface and come through the doors.
Of particular note, taking a customer's purchase to her car and then being bailed up in the carpark, where I was shown the house she was going to buy, the three jackets she bought in Germany at Christmas, and that she gets quite sweaty in winter, which then prompted her to tell me the best deodorant to use. TOO MUCH INFORMATION lady! I did manage to offload two hideous candle holders that we were sent in error and had discounted to get rid of, apparently, they we "so beautiful"..................sure, whatever you say.

Well done on moving the candlesticks. Reminds of being dragged into shops such as Lush and Dusk - only go in there to buy a specifically nominated present as/when required, never to browse.

I've had my fair share of that over the years, from both sexes.

This afternoon, a lady bailed me up to ask about the bare rooted roses that I was putting into stock. You know those random "conversations" that go on and on, where you simply listen and nod but don't get a word in? One of those................Did we have this variety, do we have that variety, I planted xyz-rose 15 years ago and can't find them anymore, one of my roses died this summer, show me how to prune them.......................in the end, I offered to leave her to have a look around, que: I'm done listening, to which she said that she didn't smoke, didn't drink, DIDN'T CHASE MEN AROUND, she could afford to buy lots of plants....................ok then.................... Another somewhat eccentric gentleman was in for some bare rooted trees. We picked out what he wanted before asking if I was one of my boss's father! Gee, thanks! I'm closing in on 40, but I didn't think I had weathered too badly for a 37-year-old. But apparently, I look old enough to be my 55-year-old boss's father. He then had the cheek to ask for discount. Usually, it works better when complimenting the salesman instead of insulting them.

Nasty sales people... I felt the need to contact Autopro in regards to a truely negative experience. Below is the email I sent them outlining what took place. I am still waiting for an update..
<--------------begin email-------------> Hi, on the 15th of June 2024 I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with a very angry salesman at the Kilkenny Autopro store. The back story is: I ordered a part, and was told it may not fit. I was happy to take the chance. It in fact did NOT fit, and I wasn't surprised or upset. About two weeks after trial fitting the part, I managed to track down the correct part second hand. I was unsure if I could return the part I purchased from Autopro as a couple of weeks had passed since the initial order and me collecting it. I approached a young female staff member and placed both the new boxed item and my second hand item on the counter, then proceeded with the following rhetoric, in a calm, quiet, informative disposition and attitude, as I was trying to be helpful to any future customers who may have this headache in the future. The following occurred while addressing the female sales team member: "Hi, for your future reference, I would like to show you the reason the part I ordered did not fit". The Salesman in question here to my left, was serving a customer and I was oblivious to him until he said to me in a very aggressive way: "I told you when I ordered the part that it may not fit. If you want to come in here with that attitude, I will throw you out of the shop." I was stunned and albeit shaken by his threatening demeanour. (This person looks like a bikie) I am a small 62 kilogram skinny male. I replied to him "What is YOUR problem?, I am not being rude or nasty to this person, I understood the risk when I asked you to order the part and that it may not fit. I am not angry about it not fitting, I am merely offering my experience to save you guys some time in the future.". I started over with my conversation to the young female team member, prefixing my conversation with "Is this just MY week for p issing people off?" After explaining and inquiring about the returnabillity of the item, it was shown to the angry man and he said it could not be returned, as it had some anti seize paste on the part. This I knew, and I was NOT trying to return the part then, as I knew it was greasy. I left the store, came back some hours later that day and I was truly fearful for my safety, and this was confirmed when the angry employee saw me and said something insulting about me to the young female sales assistant, which in turn made her smile. I was highly insulted and very fearful for my own physical safety upon returning to this store to collect my refund, thus exposing myself to outrageous unprofessional threatening behaviour. Please feel free to contact me by phone for any additional clarity you may require. Regards, One Man. <----------------------End of email-------------------> This is the reply so far: 18 June 2024, 00:36 AEST "Hi One Man, Sorry to hear you had this experience in one of our stores. I have escalated the issue through to senior management and HR for review. Please be advised that we take all comments like this seriously and you may be contacted for further information or clarification as required. I can't advise of the exact investigation process as I'm not involved at that level, but it certainly will be investigated. Regards Warren" Hmm, tapping fingers on the desk waiting for the reply.

Dealing with the general public can be rewarding, when a customer thanks you for your assistance, its the best feeling. But it can also feel like smashing your head against a brick wall for 8 hours a day. Unrealist expectations, entitlement and rudeness can be very waring.

If you felt so fearful and scared, why would you return to the place of such outrageous behaviour? I have to tell you - too much cream on the email story for me to take it seriously

Yes, the email was somewhat embellished, to get my point across to the "powers that be". All in all it happened the way I described. Take it or leave it. Turns out the guy in question is the franchisee. So, not much going to happen there me thinks.

Nodding in agreement. Like I said, the guy on the phone was super helpful, and did say the $80 part may not fit. Not a problem, as it was a better option than the $2148 part from Ford spares. I just wanted to let it be known I was p issed about how I was treated. I regularly use the Elizabeth Autopro store and those guys are the BEST when it comes to their general knowledge and or experience in many different fields. There's always going to be one bad egg... having a really crappy day. Just don't expect me to put up your BS. Cheers, and thanks for your input(s) One Man.

A young(ish) bloke bought the house a few doors down, I get the feeling this is his first home.
Ever since they moved in, he will blow all the leaves from his garden out onto the road. And not just a few leaves, but enough to cover the entire road surface in front of his home and the those to either side. Actually, I'm surprised this still happens, no one else in the street does this, so perhaps he is a slow learner or just oblivious. Each residence is paying for a green waste bin, for some reason he doesn't know what it's for. If he was right across the road, I would have said something or left an anonymous note to suggest he stop doing it. And yet, as a professional, if I did something similar, it wouldn't be long before someone would be nagging me to stop doing that.

YT is too stupid to work out my “ad blocker” is my forefinger. Quickly hit Pause, scrub through the advert to last second or two, and tap Play.

I can't remember the last time I watched free-to-air TV. It's funny because people complain about TV adds, or comment on the news ect, and I have no relatability to that. When guys on this forum slag Ford for not advertising on TV, I'm like, but the target audience is unlikely to be watching traditional TV, so why waste money advertising to the wrong customer? Or, "I hate such and such add, its so annoying" or "how about such-and-such doing xyz on the news last night", again, I just smile and nod in blissful ignorance.

Just to ad some clarification, I did clean the part before returning it, (sorry, must have been busy when posting) and the return was accepted with no probs, and a full refund given. End of saga. I did get a response from Autopro today (24/6/2024) that reads: "Hi one man, Our apologies if you have not heard anything back about the issue. We have followed it up to the team and requested for updates. Regards, Danilyn" Hmmm, nice engrish One Man.

Trying to get my brake booster out of XC. Only 3 bolts, but what a pain, too tight, steering column and accelerator arm in the way.
Took me about an hour and a bit for 3 bolts.
