G'day
Bought a very tidy AU2 Tradesman ute late last year. Tradesman were somewhat of "poverty pack" model, and as mine is used on the farm and the highway I am doing a couple of upgrades. 1. Sump and trans guard from RTV fitted. 2. Cruise control (genuine from wreck) fitted - oh how I luv cruise control! And 3 with which I need help please. Have purchased passenger side airbag from a wreck - but am having great difficulty purchasing the sacrificial white plastic clips that hold the airbag in place. They are part no: AU-F04B26-A. Apparently Ford doesn't make them anymore? Someone has NOS (set of 4 as needed) on eBay for $100 plus freight, but given that they were under $20 for a set from Ford I think that $100 + is a bit OTT!
Any advice or leads would be much appreciated - thanks.
Really enjoying the AU - went Japanese after the XF, but really glad to be back in a Falcon which is vastly more comfortable (I'm not young anymore) and doesn't use all that much more juice.
Cheers
Steve

This morning I had to purchase a Brake Light Switch, for my Ford Fairlane Ghia AU11, 2002 MODEL & used from new clocking just over 550,000 km. Called the RAC, & it was determined that all globes & fuses were OK, but I needed a Brake Light Switch. Got one from Ford for $55.35, who wanted $100 to replace.!! Mindarie Electrical quoted $55, to replace, & my regular mechanic, whom I have been dealing with since 1987, asked for only a "Six Pack"!!. Guess who I am going to use.??

Hi everyone,

I recently got a BA Fairmont with 174000km on it. I used the auto lights for a few days. Then I changed the interior lights to LEDs and blew a fuse for the interior lights. I'm not sure if this is related to the fuse blowing or not but now when I have the headlights set to auto they always stay on now and it used to be when I turned the car off they would stay on for about 30 seconds but now they turn off as soon as the key it turned. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

Thanks,
Kostya.

Welcome - pull up a chair, watch the peanuts fly. Wagons are durable and fairly easy to maintain.

So I just bought my 2013 gt 335 and am stoked. I have to wait a month for it to arrive as I'm in Queensland and the car is in W.A. Are there any other members in FNQ

Hi Lamako. I have had my Ford Fairlane Ghia AU11 since new & clocked just over 550,000 km, without any major repairs. I have also had an LPG Convertion done since new, & still running good. Only just replaced a Brake light, from Ford for $55, & had my mechanic replace it for a couple of beers. Ford wanted $100!!.

Hi Sherrif and welcome to AFF.

If you post a pic of the plates in the Classic section someone there may well be able to help.

Hi all, I've wanted to join this forum for a while now and finally got around to it. I own a 2015 Ford Falcon FGX XR8 automatic, that I bought last year with 19,000 KM on the clock. It's in the Emperor colour and is in near showroom condition, since the original owner never parked in the sun or drove it in the rain. Needless to say, it was never parked in supermarket carparks either.

I have followed what the original owner did too, and only use the car as a Sunday fun day car. I've had the car tuned by KPM Motorsport here in Adelaide, apart from that the car is completely standard.

Hi everyone. My XL deluxe wagon is just about ready for paint. New sills and half door skins and a bit of straightening here and there. Hopefully this forum will be the source of answers to some of the questions I have amassed over the last few years.

Yep, here are a couple of pics. The first is a before pic. The second is the tailgate, my first effort at painting.

Looks a pretty good canvas. The inside skin of the tailgates was always my aggravation - all seemed rusted.

Default Hello with my AU1 Wagon Project

Greetings fellow ford fans.

I started working at a Ford dealership when the AU was a new car, fresh out of school and doing Pre Deliveries on them, was an honour to get to drive so many nice cars. I moved into Spare Parts and did that for the majority of the B series era.

I now have an AU wagon that I was given by a friend who had owned it 15 years and in that time I did a lot of the maintenance on it to keep it running. He wanted me to have it as a thank you for helping to keep it reliable for so many years after he upgraded, after driving it before he took the plates off I remembered just how good they drove. So my idea of building an XR8 wagon has begun. At this stage I've just been collecting parts, but I'm looking forward to sharing my progress on the forum and gaining valuable information from the many others on here along the journey.

Hello people,
Another newbie here, I’m a big fan of the Cortina’s
I own two TE Corty's and only got back into playing with cars 3 years ago (I’m 41 years old) and have owned more in my younger years.
My favourite Fords are TE Cortina, XB falcons, Escort rs2000, XY and XT falcons....
