Does the polished alloy dull over time ??? or does it stay lustrous like chrome.
I'd love to get my Ford Racing Rocker covers done........they're as dull as a Melbourne Winters day atm.

Yeah we use a powdercoater and stainless steel polisher for work. Did a mates alternator cage in hot pink once, and these guys also do touring car rims for Greg Murphy's team. They wouldn't let me pi$$ on them though. When powdercoating engine bits always ask for high temp powder, like they use on bbq's as standard powder will self destruct at 200 degrees C after about 30 mins.

For people who are trying to hand polish their bits, you can have it anodised with a clear finish that is hard and will not fade. They will also clean them for you as part of the process. Also, some clear polyurethane paints are high temp resistant and will protect your polishing efforts, however you'll need an etch to make it stick so I'd go the anodiser.
