It is difficult to find 'Fish n Chip' shops run by Greeks these days.

They’re still out there. This one is recommended if you’re in the area.

Had a flat on the wheelbarrow... Been like that for several months. Every time my dad visits he mentioned that I need to fix it, every time I try I can't get the tyre off the hub.
He tells me to take it to a place, I argue I should be able to do it myself - I hate paying for stuff I should be able to do. Buy a tube from Bunnings - try to pry off the tyre at home and bent the screwdriver. Take the thing to my parents place - he has a few mini crow bars in the hope I could pry off the tyre to swap tubes. End up bending the crap out of the rim... The tyre is made of concrete and is stronger than the rim... It's the wide tread design, not the thin rounded design. As this is happening my dad is helping me. Standing on the tyre to hold it down while swearing that I'm bending the rim. He reminds me again to take it to get it repaired at a shop. My BIL comes out to see the commotion. He suggests that I should buy a solid tyre so that I will never have this problem again. My dads reply "Oh, a solid tyre! - I have one in the shed, I bought it 8 years but never used it because all my barrows have thin tyres and its one of the wide ones, why didn't you ask if I had one"... Proceeds to return with an as new solid tyre and rim still in its dusty wrapping... I could have bloody killed him... honestly.

Couldn't find my pliers the other day, dad goes use mine and pulls out a plier from the 1820's, rust covered, barley working. Told him "it doesn't work I'll go buy a new one".
What does he do? asks mum to bring the olive oil.

Shoosi is gold but also check out Superwog on Youtube. Funny as ****.
That's what I like when we all can take the ****. It's getting harder these days being accused of this or that, just can't have a laugh. Glad there are a few keeping it going Last edited by MITCHAY; 15-05-2020 at 09:44 PM. |

How much aborigional, and how many of your ancestors were born overseas ?
If you go back 6 generations you have 126 ancestors. Almost all of mine were born in Australia. I guess because none of them were "aborigional" (which really means an earlier wave of invaders) I'm not a "real" Australian. Just another immigrant eh ? |

My crowd are mostly Celtic on Dad's side. I found records back to 1797 for relatives from Ireland about 20 years ago but didn't follow up on it. Dear old Shirley a second cousin now no longer with us also traced Scottish heritage back to the early 1700's once until the records got really hard to confirm . On Mum's side it's Irish with a little bit of English and French . My Great Grandmother was an immigrant from France and Mum recalled as a very young girl she used to have a sip even at Mass of spirit hidden in the hem of her long skirt pretty often .
As far as convict history , that'll be something to look into one day but I expect if no direct link somewhere there will be a marriage link in the spider web of most families.. As far as I know my only indigenous relative was my Auntie Agnes who was born on Cape Barren Island which hosts a fair degree of ethnicity to the First Australians and Agnes's family date back a fair way there . Of course not a blood relative as she married my Dad' older brother , Colin . Off topic a tiny bit but Dad's younger sister Jean married Leon and one of their six kids, cousin Dianne , married and her eldest son was until fairly recently the Carlton Head Coach in the AFL . I knew Brendan Bolton when he was a little bloke but haven't seen him for a long time . What was he thinking coaching Carlton!!! Last edited by roddy1960; 17-05-2020 at 08:09 AM. |

I'll take wog, but I do get properly fed up hearing the FW lefties and aboriginal politicians telling me I'm a fing immigrant, invader and murderer.
How is it not racism to blame me for something someone else did just because our skin is the same colour ? So many people need killing... |

Todays cunning political nonsense is dribbling madness is a total lie. One of my best mates was stabbed by your new age type claiming to be Aboriginal white moron, because my mate is a full blood Aboriginal in fact from Cunnamulla and was taken away from his mum and all. My mate opposed this charlatan claiming when their was a big fuss back in the day between the full bloods and the rest or wannabes for the benefits and they stand over the full bloods and dictate their own will and my mate lived in fear of that type. Not that white Australia could truly care less, oh the Satanic media plays the story line for all the dupes to swallow, but that the power of socialism for ya. the truth is always covered up and the BS rules over ignorant stuck up people who would not have a clue. |
