I flash the high beams to warn others oncoming (unless they are bright coloured commodore & falcons or territory's, lancers and other common police undercover vehicles )
Also, when theres debris or sudden stoppage of traffic on the highway/freeway i hit the hazards to warn those behind me. They definatly do this on the autobahn. Anyone know if its illegal in NSW? (wouldent be half surprised)

I just flash the high beams. common Sense usually prevails in matters of high beam dispute.

If some bus driver pulled up next to me and put his hand into a gun shape and pointed it at me i'd bloody crap myself. But on the topic, I always give a single or a quick double flash to oncoming traffic after I pass a revenue raising camera. I'd like to hope people would do the same for me. One thing that does annoy me is when someone passes one and goes bananas with there high beams. HIGHBEAM, OFF, HIGHBEAM, OFF, HIGHBEAM, OFF, HIGHBEAM, OFF, HIGHBEAM, OFF etc etc. Annoys the hell out of me. I gave one women the bird who did it no joke, about 30 times within 300metres. WE GET IT!!! |

If the government paid people to drive around flashing high beam at oncoming drivers, that would have a far more immediate effect of slowing speeding drivers than paying those same people to sit in unmarked camera cars on the side of the road.
And it is all about slowing speeding drivers.......isn't it??
