I am on my 4th e-series, having owned them since they were near new. First one was an EB1 GL V8, great car but I decided I needed a few more creature comforts so 9 months later brought an EBII Fairmont V8 that was only 1 year old with 20k on the clock. Kept it for 6 years and had a great run out of it. Had to sell due to business commitments :
Since then had an ED Fairmont 4.0 which I sold because I thought I needed a smaller car, way wrong move. Now have an NCII Fairlane 5.0

I still remember when the EA came out and it instantly made the XF look dated (sorry x-series guys!) I really liked the look of the EAs, and when I grew up, I became a real Ford fanatic when the EL came out. I found it to be another great looking car, and I wanted one (I hadn't even noticed the difference in ED to EF until that point - it was only then that I noticed how different they were. From there I started to learn about every little difference between models - like EBII to ED). I learnt to drive Mum's EBII 5 speed wagon (and Dad's 89' Rodeo diesel but we'll just ignore that). I loved driving the wagon and I was hooked on the E-series. Then, in 2002, after I got my licence, I started looking for a car around $6000. I had my heart set on a good condition EA-EB manual, but manuals were too hard to find. In the end I saw the Ghia, 148,000kms, immaculate condition, well looked after, and I had to have it (the auto being my only dislike). The rest is history.

I voted cos it was two cars i saw when i was 13
-EA GT in blue (with the bodykit it has now, but chrome simmons fr 17" wheels) in a street machine ford special (Article: 'Blue Arsed Flyer') -EB XR8 prototype on the cover of Wheels mid '91 (same blue as ea gt, same wheels, same bodykit too, except for lip spoiler & the article suggested a 300+hp efi 351w 6-speed gt was to be the "big hairy monster" flagship)

I've always liked the eseries probably because I grew up in their era, my dad bought a brand new EA back in the day i always used to help him fix it when something went wrong so I just grew to love it! We still have the Ea and it's honestly a totally ИИИИ car but I don't want anything to happen to it :P
So yeah when I got my car it was kind of a "right place at the right time" buy, I never planned on getting a EA for my first car but it just happened but i'm happy with it so far. So i guess i'd be in the "always loved them" catergory.

When i was around 12 i was out with the olds one day, saw a loud and very cool looking cobalt blue eb xr8, absolutely fell in love with it, loved the ea-ed shape ever since..... best thing i remember about the car was the massive 265+ rubber on the rear covering the simmons rims, damn it was nice.... lol
cheers lads

my original criteria for my first car was something fairly cheap to ruy, cheap repairs, domestic but with a bit of poke. was looking at commos and falcons and after reading up and driving a mates EB i got sold and went looking for an ea-ed shape since i love boxy cars. when i laid eyes on the quad lights of my xr6 i was sold.

In regards with the old EA I had...
My first car I wanted to be an EB. With money at the time, couldn't stretch it to an EB. I then found an EA with 130,000km on it and bought it.

beacuse they're the best car for performing illegal activities on public roads.
Nah, seriously, I wanted an EB-EL 5.0, either Fairlane or Fairmont Ghia. (well I wanted other cars at the time... *cough* XB GT *cough*), and the car I've got now is the one which seemed good at the time. Still is ;) Despite the crap paint & average body. Lookin forward to AFD Showin off the E-series army! |

first car was an EA, then inhereted EL GLi parents had from new. The EL was so reliable, never broke down once in 7 years. Sold the EL last year and went without a car for over a year! Then when it came to buying a new car i ran into my EL XR6 manual in a caryard and the previous good experience with a EL just took over and I had to have it! Best decision I ever made, e-series are just a great package!

I have just been brought up with them, the first family car I remember we had was a VB commo, then an EA GL and then the EBII GLi, witch I drive now used to be my mums, until she got her BA fairmont, and can you believe after I did it all up she goes 'i want my car back' (joking of course) and I go why would you want an EB when you have got a BA Fairmont her reply: BA is that what my car is?

Bought my NC Ghia in 2004. Felin love with it as soon as i saw it in the car yard. Bought it the next day. Had many cars after that (soarer etc...) but nothing came close to it. Was considering getting an AU Fairlane, but decided to spend the cash modding up this one...

i've had 4 e-series (i think)
i've always wanted an e-series, i remember i used to be crazy about EA's, but my dad was trying to talk me out of one because a family friend has a cfi 3spd one and has always had problems and he was convincing me to get an EB instead I ended up with a cfi 3spd EA anyway, then got an ED wagon, then an EA ghia(project i lost intrest in), now i have an EB wagon
