Technical Contributor: For members who share their technical expertise. - Issue reason: Trev has owned several boosted fords and has really contributed a lot of info on them. His posts in the bike section are also very helpful. I think he should be recognised as a technical contributor.

The one where the guy drove the Veyron into the lake - and someone happened to be filming it?!?! You'd all remember the story for sure...

Maybe they didn't pay out on the car - not sure... but that would have been 'up there' in the way of figures...

There's been a couple of HO Falcons claimed and paid since the peak/boom in 2007 too... Various reasons...
The guy in the Veyron was done for insurance fraud in that case I think I recall reading.

I believe he may also have the record for the highest miles on a Maclaren as well...as he said, he actually gets out and uses the damn thing instead of hiding it away. Same as Jay Kay from Jamiroqui...he actually uses the supercars he has instead of polishing them and looking at them.

Good on him!

Oh, and the news item said what a Maclaren F1 was worth "when new"...I wonder what one is worth today? I would wager well over the 900,000 pounds it took to repair it...

given how long he has owned the car and how often he drives it, I think only two prangs is pretty good. He has had the car nearly 20yrs. There would be a hell of a lot more people who would crash it day 1, get it back and do it again.

Still, I'd had to be insured with the same company as him.
He lead the "star in a reasonably priced car" board on the top gear test track for a while

He does a few classic races and that sort of thing so he can steer, but i'd imagine with no electronic aids and possibly wet english roads it could turn very nasty, very quickly.
