easiest way would be to do this in the status window:

/server pacific.nsw.au.austnet.org

/join #aff
/join #ff.com.au

I have mIRC v 6.16 ........ I cant get onto the pacific.nsw.au.austnet.org bit of it :(

description: whatever
server: pacific.nsw.au.austnet.org
leave everything else as it is
click add
click connect
join the channel(s)

Ok so those who wanted the irc chat and a guide with pictures *looks at Minge *

Hope this works

If you need to download mIRC you can get it from my link

http://members.optusnet.com.au/cschoppe/mirc616.exe

Open Mirc and if you dont see the Mirc option screen goto Tools/Options or however else you get there



Once you have done that hit the ADD button to add the new server details




Then fill out the details as per above

Description : Fordforums AU or something so you know its the AU one
Server : pacific.nsw.au.austnet.org seems to work well
Port(s) : leave as 6667
Group : again something so you know its the AU chat

Once you have done that press the Add button again and you should see



Once that has done, hit the Connect to server button and you should then connect to the server

The very first time you connect, its a good idea to register your nickname like below



EG : /MSG NickOP REGISTER pWd! ensign@fl.net.au

but replace the password and email address with your own

Once you have done that this will make the nickname yours

When you connect each time, you can then type

/msg nickop@austnet.org identify <your password>

or if you know about alias'

/alias /ident /msg nickop@austnet.org identify $1-

copy and paste that into mirc and then all you need to type to identify is

/ident <your password >

*** If you dont want to do the above registration step you dont have to, just goto the step below****


Once you have done that join the channel as per below



Once you have done that you should see the below screen



And if all is good, you will see the rest of the ppls there

OK ... what happens when you get disconnected & try to sign back in & your username is still there ........

I tried a few other nics but they didnt work so I used me ...... this is the message I got :(

i dont think they let you use that for some reason

if your other nick is still there type /msg nickop@austnet.org kill nick <pwd> as long as you have registered your nick that will work

Else just have to put a ` or 1 or something on the end of it
