Makes sense considering the stig drove the toyota F1 car last year, i don't think Toyota would have let Shrick hop straight in the car and thrash it within a warehouse.
I thought Ben Collins was an ex F1 test driver? So no problem for him to drive the F1 car?

Ben Collins is the Stig.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeQwi-8bCEA

But yes there are more than 1 stig. The stig that drove the Renault F1 car around the top gear test track was Heikki Kovalainen (F1 driver for Renault at that time).
The stig that did the jump on a snow-mobile wasnt Ben Collins.

BTW in that video... listen to that Gallardo's engine note... hot diggity damn!

Thats what he claimed after he left the show and had fallen out with the producers there is various references around the place that state he was only one of the originals
he himself has said there was more than one.

I reckon, like many have said, its been a few different people ...

And how good was his intro the other night:
"Some say his scrotum actually has it own gravitational field .... all we know is he's called THE STIG"

Will be interesting to see if the Aussie version has a 'STIG' Character, and i wonder who it would be.......
I think he means in the back of the Transit van!!

Ha ha ha, if you arrive too early she can take it as she loves fast things.

As for The Stig, he is an enigma wrapped in a riddle, his first name is actually "The", and he has a superfluous third nipple the shape of the Nurburgring.

maybe get an artist to do a profile sketch of him from Jeremy's descriptions. Might look just like someone we know. or a bizarre mutant freak.

NAH, couldn't be Hill. The Stig seems to know what he's doing and doesn't crash often enough!

Sounds a bit corny??? This is the one and only "Top Gear" we are talking about. They take corny to new levels every season.

And we eat it all up, and want more ..... and MORE and MORE, MORE, MORE, GIMME, GIMME, GIMME!!!!

i have heard Nigel Mansell's name floated around but Damon Hill would make sense he has done a bit on the show. But when old Nige did a lap around the track in the reasonably priced car he was 2 tenths slower than the stigs lap, the only driver to come close, Hill was a couple of second off.

I hear that the STIG is flat out in the uk, so there sending out his wife "THE STIGET" .

The problem though, is F1 drivers race that track completely different to the Stig, its been mentioned a couple of times on the show

when damon hill done a lap in the phuss box, clarkson said that the stig takes a different line throu their (hammer head reference).
damon response was then the stig is not a f1 driver then??
clarkson then changed subject.

Watching Hill race I'd believe it. His favoite line was usually sideways!! He never could drive like his dad Graham, and is still the only driver I know who can crash entering pit lane
