I have done some maths and dont think I can better a 15.5 1/4. Not enough power to do the job.Everything else is spot on but I am not 100% satisfied with the engines performance.I wanted neck snapping performance and have yet to totally reach it.But I have one more mod that will cost 15 dollars and should 10 -40 nm torque across the rev range.

Oh Gosh useless you have done it!!!!!!

For those that must know how hard this poor man has tried ! e

When speaking with useless on the phone there was nothing but hard attempts and sweat coming thru the hand piece, both from me and useless. And to finally see him up and going on the right road is tremendous. And yes it would seem he has earnt the title of the one who GOT IT RIGHT. :1syellow1

Gentlemen, dont doubt his tradgedy by dismembering his methods and know how, don't be upset by the fact that he dosen't want to share. He is basking in his glory and final fulfillment of finally GETTING IT RIGHT. :

Congrats useless and keep up the good work.

Now give me a ring for the stall converter you wanted and lets really scare these SYDNEY boys once and for all. :

AMAZING, The wagon's finally going to make it to the strip. Have you thought about setting the gtech up while you are racing, and compare times between the 2?

Are you gonna show us a dyno graph of the 10-40Nm increase across the whole rev range??

Muahahah...thanks mate...I did the time now I hope that it goes well.

I am saying 15.5 so my nuts dont get fried on this forum...I rang the gtech company today and they told me that the gtech as opposed to track time is typically .4 to .7 seconds slower at the start because of a rolling start that all the die hard racers get.So in reality there is hope yet.!!!

I cant give you the keys at the moment..it losess rear traction even with the dam lsd and jumps out on takeoff!!!!Thats with the tools in the back!! I may have to get some of those lower profile tyres which I can legally have for traction.

actually, for the track, you want high profile tyres so you can drop the pressures to something like 20psi Stav. Low profile tyres for outright takeoff grip are not the way to go at all.

LOL, you said yesterday that the whole car feels 100% right except the motor, now the rear end setup and tyre choice is poo-like?

And what Casper said is true, higher profile tyres are better for taking off.

Ive just never done a 1/4 mile before and just dont really have a clue what it will really be like..I am nervous..but I think its going to be fun...The whole car is good.Quite a few times the back end does kick out if not careful. My back tyres are yokohama tyres.I wonder what the nutritional value are for these tyres becuse they certainly dont keep my car controllable. The fronts are dunlops ...Next week some more dunlops for the back should see an improvement.

Mate i have nice expensive 45 series yokos on mine which are good for street driving but not the "choice" for the strip. even at the strip i never do any burnouts with them as its a waste of time and money on a 15 sec car with street radials. even if you get them "sticky' the low profile sidewall doesn't have the twist and spring you get out of decent drag tyres. I have seen the low profile tyres braek the bead and deflate from a few hard drag strip take offs so higher profile is better

stav just like i was telling you with my 18's if i give it too much it just spins... where as with my stocko 16's i could basically dump it from 3500rpm and it would grip... i ran .3 slower with the 18's purely because wheelspin/ slower 60ft time.. and because of this about 2-3mph slower at the gates...

At the track u get loads more grip. IF youre take off is right a decent set of 225/60/15's in a decent brand should do the job easly

When I was at the track I didnt realise just how much grip there was, so I was launching slightly softer than I usually do on the road to make sure I got off the line cleanly. Result was poor 60'ers (fastest ET was with a 2.4 60') but at the end of the day you get a timeslip and you can see where you car is strong and where it needs work.

At least once you get a couple of timeslips you can compare the results of modifications. With your setup I think you are going to get some good results, probably not good enough to prove some of your wilder claims though _2:

I think that you are right. The way the car is going is not what I would call optimal. My reliance on the gtech has most probably skewed my results.I can say though at the moment with the hot weather it is going slower.Even gtech thinks so.

Seriously if the new gtech is correct I will be running a15.8 based on my poor 0-100 times at the moment.

So far the bets are on ..I think a 15.8 1/4
xrstryder thinks 15.7 if I can
Casper puts me into a 15.5 -15.6

You guys would know better than me youve been to the track. If anyone else wants to have a stab let me know.

before the hi-stall and diff gears I would say those times are what I would have expected. These last few mods cancel out the auto. With the variance you get on the dyno it is hard to say how much power your car is putting out. I wouldnt say a hi 14/low 15 pass is not out of the question.
